I didn't click your link but Stevens did agree to have the head chopped of the guy who called the ayotallah the devil or soemthing.
as Salmon Rushdie (sp?) offended Islam he was not considered innocent. if you were to read the article you would find that Cat has spoken out against terrorism on several events. I mean come on, he's the guy who wrote "Peace Train" and "Morning Has Broken", not to mention the beatiful and peaceful album of "Tea For the Tillerman."
whatever. (The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 10 characters.)
Well, he does have one requirement......$$$$$$. I find people who "suddenly get religious" to be freakier than those who were raised that way.
I LOVE to hear Cat Stevens sing. I loved the soundtrack to Harold and Maude. This information is actually shocking to me.
Like I said, I didn't click the link, but I did hear a lot of things about that muslim thingie before...
I had heard about the Salmon Rushdie thing before and I didn't read his book but Cat Stevens was one of the very first albums,(what they were back then), I ever bought. Now it gives me the creeps to hear his music. How sad.
I cannot picture Cat Stevens being a terrorist. But he does appear to be quite different from how he was in his "Peace Train" days. I love him anyway. I also love Salman Rushdie's books though.
I think that someone who writes songs as beautiful as his, is 'incapable' of supporting terrorism... His songs are just so full of love and care for humanity.... It's just not his nature.
