I think i am the only person who takes opiates who doesnt like taking them at night. I have a very strange paranoia that if im high when i go to sleep i might OD. I know it sounds strange but if you look at most overdoses it happens when people are asleep. This fear is probably due to the fact that i have OCD. Does anyone else feel the same about going to sleep high?
No way, I always love passing out/nodding while high its great, I just make sure my breathing is okay and then i relaaaaxxx, its great fun
yep, I'm on the bandwagon with this one. It's been an eternity since I've done any sort of opiate during the day. And even then I kept redosing until I went to bed. Opiates are too sleepy/dazed for a lot of daytime activity (IMO).
I like them anytime, anywhere. It's one thing opies have over weed, at least for me, and that is I tend to get less high off mj at night, but opies do the same for me anytime. They sorta keep me awake at night, esp. with friends. The night flies by.
I'm the same way. Sometimes when I take five 5mg vicodins, then go to bed about 2 hours after the half-life of the pills has worn off, I get a little worried that I might die in my sleep, even tho there's not a real difference in how i'm breathing and such. lol
First off if you can control not nodding out on opiates you really don't have to worry at all about oding, If you are only eating a few vicodens or a low amount of opiates you should be just fine. Its when you are nice and fucked up on opiates you can't really control when you nod out and go to sleep.So this leads me to believe that there is not that much shit pumping threw your veins and you should be alright. I have seen alot of Herion and Opiate od's in my day, Way to many to be honest. Hears how most od's go.Injectinig you usally over dose real fast sometimes if its a big ass shot its almost instant ass soon as it hits you. usally with injecting a over dose comes in the first 15 to 30 minutees,The first time I over dosed I was drunk as all hell, I went and got 2 bags of herion I shoot them bolth walked up the street and thats all I remember, I guess I collapsed right on the side walk. The od was almost instant. Thats how almost all IV od's go. But with sniffing and smoking Herion and eating pain killers most od's happen within the first 1 to 2 hours after they hit your system, It takes time for the drug to hit you full force so it takes alot longert then IV usally the first hour. Hears another thing the most important almost all the opiate and Herion over doses I have seen 90% of the time another drug comes into play with that OD. and that is usally Alchool,Benzo's or Coke.The number one way to cut the odds down big time not to have a over is do not fucking mix dother drugs especially downers with opiates you are really taking a big risk every time you mix anything with opiates. All 3 of my Herion over doses had other drugs into play. I never ODed ounce on just straight herion or pills. Another way to cut down the danger level with opiates is a user usally knows when they are nice and how much they can handul. So don't push it if you are nice and high and having a good nod on 2 bags of dope or 30mg's of OC don't go and do more thats just playing with fire.Like I say just be smart people. also to answer your question above trojanman all the od's I have seen the breathing is very odvious as all hell you can't miss the sound, Its sounds like the perosn has water in there lungs. like a gargaling sound.You will know just buy the sound if something is wrong. Its a horrible sound I never want to hear again.There lips also start to turn blue sometimes. If you ever hear someone like or think someone is having a OD on opiates set them up straight don't let them lay down if the puke they will choke on it, To try to bring them back out of the OD slap them in the face, Yell and scream at them att he top of your lungs,Throw some cold water on them and keep doing it, Put ice down there pants on there balls, etc, I mean it smack the shit out of them I don't care if you fuck up there face its better then them dying or being in a coma-right !!!, And most important call the dam ambulance asap or get them to the ER so they can get a shot of narcan, You won't get in trouble Medics ask nothing and don't say anything to the police, If worst comes to worst drop them off at a Emergency room, Worrying about getting caught buy your parents or the cops is not worth having your frind or loved one die from a OD, So many fucking people who have opiate related od's could be saved but the people they are with are to fucking scared to get them medical help thinking they will get caught. Thats not tue at all like I said above. I myself helped bring a kid back one time buy throwing him into a ice cold shower and putting ice down his pants and smacking the shit out of him. I did not even know the dam kid eather it was so fucked up to begin with. we were at a house in the bronx where every one was shooting up I was on my way to a phish show at the garden, Whats so fucked up is His fucking shit bag friends left him like that to die they were scared to bring him to the Emergency room and were afraid they would miss the Phish show, I can't tell you how pissed I was at these kids this one kid keep saying if we don't leave we will not be able to get hits it will be to late, so lets just leave him hear he will be ok and wake up. I just can't get over that to this day, These fucks were more worried about finding hits of LSD and getting to the phish show then they were about there frinds life. I was pathetic. So me Me and a few of my frinds took over and brought him back out of the Over dose,why we were waiting for the ambulance.The main thing is ounce you bring them out of the Over dose you have to make sure they won't go back to sleep, Do anything not to let them nod out again, they usally go right back into the OD, The kidd was fine ounce the ambulance came they gave him some Narcan. I still think about that every now and then I never ever saw that kid again after that, I don't even think he knows how close he was to dying that day and how his shit bag frinds left him to die !!!!
I wish more people around my area would be smart when they use opiates, most of the dumbasses are girls, and a few are guys, they'll blow mad oxy, then go to the bars and get plastered, then do more oxy after there drunk. sometimes they'll even throw some yeyo in the mix. the worst part about it is how many times i've warned these girls of the dangers of combining oxys with alcohol/coke, but they will never listen to me, when one of them OD's , then maybe they'll understand. just hope it never goes there.
wow, i thought i was the only one...i'm on OC round the clock but i usually don't sleep much (2-4hrs a night) because i am worried I won't wake up. granted, I have a lung disease so my lungs are already compromised, but if I lay down i get panicky and worry that i'm not breathing properly and then i force myself awake again and find some caffeine and wake myself up untill i'm sure my breathing is fine, then I go to sleep halfway sitting up, just to make sure. I'm sooo paranoid about it that it is ridiculous, but I don't want to kill myself. One thing i've found that helps is taking opiates like 3-4hrs before bed. by that amount of time i'm usually not worried about ODing and yet i'm still affected by the end of my high so going to bed feels good and i'm sleepy. But honestly Trojanman, unless you have lung problems, or are shooting a lot of H, eating/snorting OC or other pharmaceuticals shouldn't cause you to OD as long as you stay within your usual limits and DON'T MIX. I used to mix my oxy usage with tizanidine/methocarbomal...i remember one day when i literally couldn't wake up, no matter how hard i tried. my friend was so worried he almost took me to the ER, but i finally got up and went outside in the cold (10 degrees F here) and snow and that kept me awake until the danger had passed. -V
