    Planning involves lots of reading.

Check out torrent sites for Jorge Cervantes Grow DVD and Grow Bible.

    Or buy them.

Cannabis grow bible is a goo done to search. Also read the MJ Guide here @h ip forums.

I read Jorge Cervantes Grow Bible cover to cover along with countless articles in High Times and several weeks of online correspondance. I also began to frequant my local hydraponic shop trying to buy one piece of equipment at a time. This allowed me to get aquainted with the owner who began to speak with me very openly about the specifics of growing cannabis. Of course we were discussing tomato type plants. He was the most help and on his recomendation I chose to grow in soil over hydro.

I feel that I am now knowladgeable enough to give it a damn good run. Anything else I have to learn will have to come from experience.

The first thing is to figure out the exact place you want to start your garden. Then get accurate measurements so you know exactly how much square footage you have to grow in. I chose to build a grow closet in a secluded part of my basement. I built a 3x6 room and divided it into two 3x3 rooms, one side to vegetate and one side to flower. I lined it with white wall board from Home Depot and covered the top with plywood. I completely sealed the flowering side so ABSOLUTLY NO LIGHT can penetrate it and disturb the sleep of the flowering cannabis. As for lighting the rule is anywhere between 30 and 50 watts per sq ft. I chose a 400W Metal Halide for Vegetation and a 400W High Presure Sodium for Flowering. But make sure you pay attention to the lumens, you want the highest possible for the wattage escpecially in the flowering stage. There are plenty of other issues to tackel also like temperature control and humidity, ventelation and airflow along with a slew of other stuff. I have to admit that I didn't realize what an art cannabis gardening was. Plan on spending at least $1000.00 to get started if you want to do it right and educate yourself before just diveing in. I think the Jorge Cervantes Grow DVD and Grow Bible is a solid recomendation and I second it. Good Luck.
