Ive just agreed to take in a young couchsurfer on Saturday night! Very short notice and kind of impulsive to accept...with me being ill and a load of crappy problems, i havent met a stranger in months. But hopefully itll be fun Ill certainly try my best Has anyone else done couchsurfing or been a host? In other news my heads hurting, one of the bunnies is asleep on their backs with their legs in the air, and im about to PM or email about 20 different people! Hmm Oh, and my ticker lies
Hey, yeah have hosted a few people before and been hosted myself. Great site, and I have always met wonderful people and had a great time. Its nice to know there are still decent genuine people in the world. If your ever in N.Ireland, look me up on CS.
My parents have never done that and i doubt I'd do that to someone else either. I mean meeting strangers is fine but not to sleep in someone you just met's home.
My Mam took someone in once, ended kinda badly though. I'd be pretty hesitant to do something like that again. I've put up runaway friends in the past, but they all returned home once their money ran out! Seems to me that doing something like that is only going to increase your chances of running into a loon. Travelling and hitching and the like aint what it used to be, certainly not in England anyway.
Has anyone else done couchsurfing or been a host? yeah went to Bath with some crazy girl who thought she won a holiday to Turkey worth £1400 at the time and she went to the offices to pick up the prize and it turns out they were scammers and she had ignored the bit that said "Or equivalent worth in money off vouchers for goods at Wh Smith Tesco's etc etc" so she got handed a fuck off book of money off vouchers which incedentally the posted to everyone that replied. So we were arguing about where to pitch a tent and went into a chip shop while discussing it and some student types said come to our place
