I graduated from Lees McRae College. It is by no means a party school, if that's what you're after. But the school is very unique in that everyone is part of a big family. The school is very small, so the individual student gets an enormous amount of attention from teachers and councillors. Everyone knows each other and everyone is friends with each other. It really is a great school. The only drawback is that the tuition is very high. There are, however, many many loans, grants, and scholarships available. Almost every student gets financial aid from the school.

It is a wonderful place to grow and learn.

The mountains are great in the summertime and beautiful in the fall when the leaves are changing and equally beautiful in the spring when the Rhododendrons are in bloom. The winters are very cold, very windy, very long, and very snowy.
They aren't half bad if you like good skiing, though. :)

I would recommend Lees McRae way before App State.
