hey, guys. it's good to be back. i've been going through a lot of crazy shit since i was last here... a pair of tumultuous relationships and a really rollercoaster depression... but i'm glad to be back. i regret to inform everyone that during one of my severe mood swings i freaked out, decided i wanted to be 'normal', and combed out my dreadlocks. i later on cut my hair, and now it's pretty short... i'd give it 4-5 inches. needless to say, i miss them like hell, and i'm wondering when would be a good time to start them again. i was thinking of going au naturel, making myself a tiny wool tam and leaving my hair alone for a few months, but knowing my impatience i'm not sure how well i'd like that. as well, my hair is straight, and had a little difficulty with dreads last time... so i don't think it's inclined to lock up naturally. has anyone ever done a dread perm? my hair's not long enough for one yet, but i was curious about them. i'm not super excited at the thought of having tons of chemicals poured on my head, but then again i don't know much about them. otherwise... is it possible to backcomb when hair is this short? or does it just end up looking tufty and weird? in any case... i hope everyone's doing all right, and that you missed me. peace. oshinn
welcome back! i don't think i knew you much when you were here but i'm looking forward to hearing about your dread journey. i'd advise against a dread perm, but i've never had one so i don't speak from experience. i know they look like dreads a lot sooner than with any other method, but it seems so weird to achieve a natural style like dreads with something so damaging and chemical. go natural! i'm dreading my bangs naturally and they're moving along so fast it's incredible. i think my hair dreads better naturally than by any other method. so welcome back. let's play!
