so... i was wondering if anyone has ever written a book in abreviations.. ya know since probably a majority of communication these days are done by chat, email or text.... it would be interesting to come up with a book that was written in nothing but chat/text lingo
I think I've read some short stores written that way, but not an entire novel. I think you gotta be careful with those kind of things, it could be fun, but it can also get tiring really quickly. I guess it also depends of its audience. I rarely use chat/text lingo, so they annoy me more, but I'm sure people who use it more frequently would love it. If the story is good that is.
i dont think i could read a whole book like that. I can hardly stand to read a post full of text lingo
yeah but it sounds totally fucking retarted when people say "LOL" out loud n shit like that. in my opinion it will bring a new wave of people with low IQ and abreviating when its not necessary just makes you sound less intelligent. obviously others wont be able to hold a intellectual conversation with you and ultimatley it will make you look like a dumbass.
lol I certainly hope not! I can't even read books that are less than 500 pages long. And even that is too short for me cause I'll read it in a week. But a book made of abbreviations would be disgusting for me lol.
i guess i find it interesting in the fact that has the net and cellphones made society dumbed down enough to make a book of such nature that would make sense?
now I can see some people wanting to, but I have to look up abbreviations anyway. I even have a list bookmarked on the internet. AAS BSEG GTR ..... wha? and isn't there that other code? I don't use it so i cant remember. the one where 'a' is 4? Maybe you could write a book that way, but abbreviations have to be explained, and that would slow a lot of people down. I remember when it was LOL LMAO and ROFLMAO (my favorite because it needs the abbreviation!) and I can read books less than 500 pages, but they are more like a coffee break. Goosebumps are awesome for intermissions! Good RTOTD...... OP
theres this teenie girls book called ttyl that me and my friends would always make fun of that was written completely like an aim conversation
I've grown up with the internet, you just slowly learn them all. I don't find it annoying at all if people sat FTW in real life as long as they dont say just the letters lol. I myself would never write text lingo on anything other than than the internet.
Shit it's really quiet in my house but i can hear the tv and contry music is on,. I can hear momma dont let your babied grow up to be cow boys lol....Shit its an infomercial. And im not getting up to change it
why would anybody buy that book it sounds fucking dumb as hell. If I want to pay for something I would like proper grammar, I can just talk online if I want to read some short sentences
