I just inoculated my first jars of BRF and vermiculite and put them in the incubator. Should I keep the jar lids screwed down tight or does the mycelium need to breathe as it develops?

the holes you used to knock up the jars will be enough, even with tape on them

if you are worried i would wait for them to colonize some then crack the lid open for a split second

I spray the area with lysol, then tilt the jars with a lid up for a second to let out the CO2. I did a lot of things wrong, I'm lucky to even have pins popping up.
If you got holes in the jar that's fine.
