Sob if u guys find it hard t get no wonder here in uk I've not seen proper acid in yrs but guess its a closed market and ya gotta be in the know, i hear of some last yr but was told it was v weak anyway. I first did lsd in the 80's so v likely not 100 per cent pucker poo anyway but I've seen 20 yr olds after smokin a bit tmuch bud... oo i'm tripping wow wow, lol they really have.nt got a clue. Trouble in uk is the youth just wanna fight not make peace and acid dont fit the bill. Like the so called love drug E they pop a handful on the dance floor n just end up hitting each other. Just think its law of supply n demand nobody in mass numbers wants it.

This thread was not about the availability of acid. I'm talking about the cultural aspects. The whole "psychedelic" thing actually made its way into popular culture in the form of music and clothes by 1967 and lasted into the 70's. It sort of became a novelty after a certain point, and even straight-edge drug-free posers started wearing shabby clothes and adopting the fake hippie image. I know the real psychedelic subculture is still around, its just found itself nestled safely into a niche of our society where it belongs - rather than having the government and media spotlight on us like during the late-60's counterculture hysteria.

I wanted to point out that hallucinogens are hardly mentioned in our anti-drug education these days. I believe that this was an intentional move in the 70's that's lasted through to today to keep as many people as possible from even knowing what hallucinogens are or what they do. They're the only drugs that can be used as tools to spiritually revolutionize oneself. If you ask me, most run-of-the-mill Christians are not even in the least spiritually awake, and these people make up the majority of the western world. (Though I've seen and talked to true Catholic monks who are amazing people.) True spiritual awakening leads to questioning authority and thinking for oneself, and its this very fact that makes hallucinogens, particularly LSD, so dangerous in the eyes of our authorities of the last 45 years.

"I think the problem for the underground chemists manufacturing clandestine acid was a shortage of ergot, without which the synthesis of d-LSD-25 is impossible. Until 1965, supplies of ergot could be bought with little difficulty from three or four European chemical companies; but pressure from Washington put a stop to this, doubtlessly hopeful that this would lead to an end of clandestine LSD. In one sense, the Federal authorities were right. The underground ceased turning out d-LSD-25; instead, they discovered a wholly synthetic substance akin to d-LSD-25....Sure the new stuff "worked" in the sense that any new mind-altering chemical "works" to produce subjective effects within the body, but it didn't seem to produce in those who used it any particular noticeable elevation in either head or heart; at least it was - and probably is - an unpopular view amongst the "congnoscenti" who claim that some of the street acid is capable of producing positive subjective effects of a "long-lasting nature," though they readily admit a lot of the stuff sold as "pure acid" is actually a stripped-down ergotamine compound by modern molecular chemistry." -Bruce Eisner - High Times, 1977

From everything I've read, there are hundreds of ways to come up with an LSD or LSD-like molecule that works, but the original pioneers such as Leary and Kesey made themselves who they are with pure Sandoz d-LSD-25. Leary knew that if it were made illegal, there would be a dangerous amount of half-assed street acid that would damage society even more - because of course people are still gonna trip. No one knows for sure, but I theorize that the late 60's got so bad because of the amount of bad whacky acid being everywhere. The varying characteristics of the molecule itself can have a bearing on different psychological aspects of the trip that they induce. We've all experienced that I think. (Almost every drug is like this.)

I didn't say it was. I mean't that they're clueless about all hallucinogens. I've noticed that the ignoramuses who wrongfully use these words only really associate them with being stoned. (Straight-edge people who joke about drugs are the biggest losers in my opinion. I want to punch them sometimes.)

I agree. I'm sure glad the hysteria is over!

Dude Ive seen some shit on the internet that makes me LAUGH SO FUCKING HARD. Id swear I was on LSD...

Laughter is euphoric and releases the same chemicals into the brain as LSD..
Once you have opened the doors you should be able to go into the room once in a while without the chemical.......KEYS...

LSD doesnt release serotonin, which is the chemical you are referring to. It doesnt release any chemicals at all actually besides LSD. Not like mdma does (mdma releases massive amounts). However LSd is structurally similiar to serotonin, causing the LSD to attatch to the serotonin receptors and stimulate the shit out of them. So it mimicks serotonin and causes giddiness, laughter, happiness, epampathy etc but it doesnt actually cause the release of any more chemcials than your body releases naturally.
