I have been carrying a tiny notebook with me for years, so that I may write down the phrases that come into my head for writing ideas. I keep a flashlight, and notebook by my bed for writing down dream details, and words. They plague me until I write them down. Sometimes I think "Oh I will remember that, no need to write it" but I do forget. The stage just before falling asleep, and just waking up fully often contain some interesting things...alpha, beta, gamma delta,....waves....some are suited to concentrating, some to artistry...some to "letting go" of the urge to control....and don't forget....inspiration waves..and neutrinos wizzing thru your body faster than you can think...
there are neutrinos whizzing in me? gross i got me one of those little hand recorders for that, not sure which i like better tho
i am always so sure that i will remember, never do. i irritate myself sometimes, i buy a notebook especially for ideas and stuff, but i always end up using tiny little scraps of paper, or i can't find a pen and go and use tester eyeliners in a make-up shop. yeah, i should be more disciplined, lol.
I know the feeling. Very often when I'm just about to fall asleep random phrases pop into my head and some of them are interesting and I don't write them down but I think I'm going to remember them, and I don't. Also, I can't tell you how many times I've woken up next to a piece of paper that has some random and cryptic phrase on it that I don't remember writing. It's so disturbing sometimes. I love notebooks though. Right now I have two for random ideas and names and stuff. One is lime green and in my purse, and one is covered in purple duct tape and above my desk. Ah, notebooks.
Im going to start carrying a small notepad. Ive been through 50+ sheets in the last year from my notebook. I want to get a good one though.
Me too, my children make fun of me. All of my notebooks have a specific purpose though. Beside my bed, I have a pretty one to capture inspiration, a cheap one to write my emotional turmoil (that one always goes in the trash), and one for notes on whatever nonfiction book I am studying at the time. Then I have a small one that I carry around, for my poems. "Happiness is a new notebook" ~~Charles Schulz
i got 2. one that is by my bed where i jsut write to much in. mostly written around 3 am. so its impossible to read my own handwriting. its also full of papers that i have gotten hold of elsewere and put in. i also carry a smal notepad around with me at times. looking out for a smartphoen with notepad so i dont have to. but the issue with noteboks for me. never ever a pen around.
Until about 2 weeks ago i just wrote on scrap paper, but it was getting hard to keep track of it so I bought a pretty journal haha...sometime in the near future I'd like to take it around with me everywhere but for now it just stays under my bed for late night writing.
I do the 3 am thing. Ever wonder what people would say, if something happened to you and they were reading THAT? LOL I think a shrink would have a hayday with mine!
I have around four different books... But I usually write on scrap paper (and date it if possible) and put it in a box full of them.
I have a few lying around, but then my best ideas always come when I'm outside, and thus notebookless. I need a small one.
well i have thought about buying a notebook but most of my thoughts come up when i am in the train and people will look what i write(that happens when i read something,so imagine writing!!!) but i will do it eventually i hope..
I've carried notebooks 'round with me for a number of years too. On my travels to the country (etc.) it comes in handy for poetic /song writings. To address my frustration of remembering Dreams, I keep a notepad by my bed, and have 'trained myself’ (?) to note down my dreams (scrawled as they are, immediately upon waking up, they help in de-ciphering / understanding them as creative thoughts for either as Poems or stories. In general I keep my notes until I have the time to assemble them into a cohesive and constructive manner - (lots of loose paper then) < Peace + Love ~ Save the Planet > +
I used to carry one around with me everywhere. Inspiration comes and goes for me. I do think it's a good idea though. I probably should start doing it again.
So far I have 1 ½ composition books full of thoughts and little truths I’ve realized. Maybe one day I’ll actually organize them into my own manifesto. Here’s one. " The question is not if an entity is capable of brilliance. The fuel for a brilliant fire exists in everything. It is a matter of the dedication to creating a spark. "
