I saw a shooting star for the first time in my life *I think* last night while driving. It was awsome. I don't remember if I made a wish... maybe subconciously I did... haha
What i realized being way out in the country, is that shooting stars are going on all the time, you just can't see them usually due to light pollution but I think light pollution is also very important
I was tripping at my dad's house in Florida's panhandle and went out to build a small campfire in the middle of the night. For some reason I started to do a little Indian rain dance around the fire and his dog was dancing with right along with me. lol Out of breath, I lay on the grass and was staring up at the bright stars when a meteor streaked across the sky right above me. It was so close, I could see the fireball in great detail, and that image is forever burned into my memory.
We saw a meteor shower back in the 90's. We were laying out on the hoods of our cars, in the dark, watching it. All night. Drunks'll do anything, LOL...
About 6 weeks ago, there was a meteor shower visible from here. Myself and some friends were lucky enough to be in the middle of nowhere. No lights for miles. I have no idea how many shooting starts we saw. But I remember one, that was so big. It was sort of electric green in colour and went really slowly across the whole sky. Definitely the coolest thing I've ever seen in the night sky.
Back when I was a country boy, I'd see one if I sat around at night for an hour. Meteor showers are beautiful. I was tripping once upon a time during a meteor shower, and it appeared to me if the whole sky was raining down on earth. It was apocalyptic and beautiful, and spiritual to the extent I wept.
