Thats way bad ass. Ive been listening to a lot of Isley Bros as of late. Not underground or new, but thats my shit right now. As for newer shit, I like Soulive pretty good right now.
who? soulive? I thought they always were a trio...never known them to have a bass player. They do team up with horn players and vocalists/MCs quite a bit though.
I used to really dig metal and still do, just not as exited anymore Then I realized my favorite metal songs weren't even fully metal, many were slower songs Anyways, songs and bands I love (melodic) -Metallica Fade to Black The Unforgiven Nothing Else Matters Master of puppets One Sanitarium Enter Sandman Children of Bodom (melodic metal) -everytime I die -downfall -are you dead yet -kissing the shadows I recommend everyone add those songs o your play lists
That's funny. A friend of mine's band just did a split with one of the bands one of the guys who were in Burning Witch (Stephen)... and we smoked with him like no more than two weeks ago.
hmm lets see the flaming lips marty robbins 13th floor elevators warren zevon yael naim sage francis explosions in the sky mogwai ive known about some of them for a bit but just never got around to listening them
I just recently got into the wood brothers. Its Chris Wood (Bassist from MMW) and his brother Oliver on guitar. Mad good stuff. Its pretty chill fun to listen to stuff. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Upn7EDWqNxI http://youtube.com/watch?v=tyNabZIKNr8 Theres a couple videos if you care to watch them.
oh, wonka, it's good to hear someone else has heard of that 1 guy. i saw him live opening for ani difranco in seattle several years ago and got his cd they were selling. its pretty crazy. i like it, but REALLY have to be in the mood. still, i thought his opening act was better than ani's main act...i liked her at the time (not as much now) and was a bit disappointed by her concert and mrgreen, its good to see someone admitting to liking the cardigans. i love them, but its a bit of a guilty pleasure. i dont like much of that type of music, but really enjoy listening to them. i only do so when alone usually, though, as most of my friends...well...probably would NOT enjoy it as much as me recently i've learned to really appreciate al green as well as looked further into some older country like hank williams and stompin tom connors and more johnny cash and some other artists..... still, i have been listening to a decent amount of hiphop and rock, though.
Whoa that is crazy, That guy stephen went on to form Sunn O))) I was wanting to buy one of their records but cant find them anywhere.
Yeah, it's hard to find the records. You could probably get 'em on e-bay or something. Sunn O))) is pretty cool. Drone is by far not my favourite genre of music, but I do have a place in my heart for it.
I recently heard about the Animal Liberation Orchestra and really like them. Check them out on archive.org.
Just got a bunch of more post-rock as well as some metal -Baroness -Ahab -Unpersons -Cult of Luna -Esoteric -Between the Buried and Me -Kyuss I mainly listen to post-rock which is the best genre of music to date.
got into Boards of Canada recently- that's about it. And Murcof as well, actually. Has anyone heard of Bob Brozman? I saw him live a couple of years ago and he was absolutely unbelievable.
