I don't like diamonds or gold. What I want is either silver or white gold, or platinum maybe, if it isn't too expensive. I want a square amethyst in the center, not tiny but not real big either. Then on the sides somewhere, perhaps inset in the upper part of the band or just smaller stones beside the center, I want tanzanite. %)

Engagement rings piss me off. I'll deal with a wedding band.... but an engagement ring..... that's like fuckin' bribery. Why do I have to bribe a woman for a marriage that is more important to her than to me? I'd rather get the milk for free.

And well yeah, we are getting engaged sometime soon, Tim just wants me to pick out a ring that I really love first.

I want something simple, either a solitaire setting or maybe a spiral solitaire setting (depending on the diamond cut of course) with one diamond in the centre and that's all. The ring will be either white gold or platinum, probably platinum as apparently it's a lot stronger and really lasts forever. And I want the diamond to be a marquise cut. I think. But then I've seen some gorgeous princess cuts as well... ahhh... I dunno. We're going ring shopping to London this weekend, so we'll see...
