K so THeres a myth the we humans only use 10 percent of our brains but the state ment should say we only use 10 percent of our brains potencial power to process stimulus.anyways Its been documented that when experiencing LSD or trippin mushrooms your brain begins to go in to a hyper speed mode ,it kicks up its potencial power to around 47 percent ...So i was thinging that because us humans Cannot normally see something like infared light for example maby just maby these drugs allow us too see reality as it acually is or like bumblebees or other insects. yea ITS TRUE INTILL YOU PROVE ME WROng hahah

I believe these drugs can show us truth in some situations. When I did shrooms the first time I had an experiance standing in front of the mirror. I had a self revalation and I had found truth in myself. The drugs can open your mind to new things.

well i wouldnt found my belief on a MYTH.

i think that since our perception has evolved by the principle of necessity toward survival (specifically, on Earth; in the miky way; with a perception-set reduced to some random single-celled ancestor)--- it means that stimuli that doesnt fit that criteria may be omitted. there must be things we are inherently incapable of ever perceiving or understanding fully or at all because of the limited senses we have been vested with.

theres a whole universe besides earth. its fuckin huge. its more than doubtful that we got a full grasp on the entirety of possible stimuli in the universe. us earthlings naturally have a very niched perception-set

i think theres some sort of genetic essence of oneness we can tap into with the right sort of thinking

people who use 10% of their brains are the people who lose their intelligence after leaving school. youd hope that you use more of your brain. at any one time, you should only need to use like one millionth of your brain because if you used 100% of your brain you would think every possible thought you could ever have at once and youd probably die of seizure

k i said the us only using 10% of our brain is a myth not us using 10 % of its overall potencial ,thats true
and yes i relize that we do not experience all of the stimuli in the universe because u can clearly see in my post i said that.
all so im saying that tripy drugs only allow us to see the diffrent invisble aspects of life such as different "frequencys" of "reality"

No, tripping will not give you x-ray or infrared vision. You may be able to imagine that you possess these powers while tripping, but no, it's not going to unlock hidden abilities in your brain. All of this talk about 'opening the doors of perception' & unlocking your hidden potential shouldn't be taken literally from a scientific perspective.

Why do you start all of your posts with, 'K...'? Is that like, 'mmmkay?'

I believe something like this is mentioned in Aldous Huxley's book The Doors of Perception, but worded much better obviously. The title itself is taken from William Blake's The Marriage of Heaven and Hell:

Now go read The Doors of Perception.

you can't objectively value any one perception of reality over any other. the reality you experience during your sober waking life is a result of a bunch of very specific psychoactive chemicals floating around inside your brain. by taking a drug like mushrooms, you subtly change that balance of chemicals and you perceive reality in a not so subtly different way.
the point is, who's to say the endogenous chemicals in your brain are producing the "real" reality. its all reality.

I think that the rumored higher percent of your brain being used is more philosophical, when you start thinking a million thoughts a minute. Like the chemicals open up other pathways so that you're more intellectually aware, but the sensory perception gets completely fucked up from the chemicals trying to do the same thing to those parts of the brain.
