I need some help on finding some good herbal tea. Something that I can buy at the grocery store and is easy to find. That's good, but, also the kind that cleanses you and all that stuff.....lol, any ideas?

A really good herbal tea is the sort that they have in most Chinese restaurants. Its really cheap (if you get it in bulk... that's why they serve it free), it's very cleansing for your system and it's very neutral (in terms that... eg; if you have a bad stomach then it will help to calm it down). The only problem is getting your hands on some, most big restaurants have a contract with the same company, I just don't know which one. All my attempts to thus far find out have been thwarted :p maybe if you ask around a chinatown-ish area you can find a dealer (...of "herbs" ;) )

Of course, failing that, you can obtain ginseng tea from most health food shops, and that's pretty good for you. Look for jade tea too. Chrysanthemum tea (self brewed, don't buy it canned, try and get relatively fresh chrysanthemums) is also good for you, not as good as ginseng or jade, but it has a much sweeter taste if the other two don't appeal to you.

Or, alternatively, you can just do what my dad does, if you have the right plants growing in your garden, just pick off a few leaves :D
Rosemary is a fairly common plant, you could grow your own if you don't have one, they're fairly easy to cultivate (just stick it in the soil and let it grow... there's more to it than that, but you get the idea). Take a few leaves and leave them to soak, then boil them to make tea! If you leave a few leaves in water and let their "properties" diffuse out, it makes a pretty good mouthwash too! "Strengthens the gums!" or so my dad tells me... :p

    Uh... yeah... hope that helps

My favourite tea's Earl Grey, which you can get most places; Twinings Earl Grey is the best.

Appart from that, I like Chinese green tea and echinacea tea is very good for boosting your immune system when you're feeling ill.

I like the Celestial Seasonings teas... (@ the grocery store) or also buy some loose tea leaves (black or green) and mix with some ingredients... cloves and cinnamon for chai, or some mint and orange rinds is tasty too!

you may not have on of these but...
i found a little japenese market place right by me, and there is an entire aisle with only teas, there was a tea for everything, detox teas, sleeping, weight loss, etc. and plus every type of herbal tea you would hear of, plus they were really cheap. look in the phonebook or somethin, for a cool place like that :)

I found that if you have any asian markets around they're a good spot to get many types of teas. Or if theres specialty tea shops around even better. Or you can make your own i think cinnamin was already said, but try honey, lemongrass, orange peels, flower peddles(make sure you know theyre safe though)

    http://welcome-to.chiangmai-chiangrai.com/herbaltea.htm
That sites explains what certain herbal teas are good for.

As for your definition a herbal tea: Well it isnt really a tea at all but a herbal infusion. Which is a mix of whatever herbs/fruits/flowers. Tea comes from the Camellia Sinesis plant(i think i spelled that right?? =) which once the leaves are picked go through a certain process to make a certain type of tea. Black teas, like earl greys, are left to dry and ferment which turns the leaves a brownish/black color. Green teas the leaves are picked, steamed and dried skipping the fermenting process so the leaves remain green and contain more of the good stuff you hear about. And theres the partly fermented ones called Oolong teas(i think?) that have a qualities of both green and black teas. Hope that helps =)

Oh yeah try loose teas over the chopped up bagged ones, if you can find em. I personally think they taste better and you dont have that paper bag floating around in your drink. You can re-use the tea once or twice to if you wanna get the most for your $$$.

im not much of tea drinker myself. but look for some stuff called chai tea. very good stuff. its not a kind of tea but more style as theres many varities of it. thier is lots of info on the internet for making it yourself. I buy pre made mixes from an asian market, but even the regular grocery stores out here have some of it.

all chai tees include at least some of theese ingredients though

cardomon, ginger, cinomon, cloves, peppercorns, fenel or anise seed, and
somtimes mixed wiht other teas.... black, darjeeling etc
