During the Spring we had extensive remodeling done to our house, which include under the floor radiant heat. Since I never wear shoes in the house, I would spend most of the Winter in wool socks because the flooring was always cold on bare feet. Well it cooled down here last night for the first time since Spring, it was still 49 deg. outside but we had the radiant heat on and it felt very warm and cozy under foot, hopefully I won't need the thick wool socks this Winter.
does anybody else have radiant heet under their hardwood floors and tiles? If so how is it in the extreme cold?

No, so I'm no help sorry but I want this type of heating SO BADLY! I think it's dense all the FAG furnaces we have here in Canadia. They are ineffective and wasteful and they dry the air to the point that it's a constant nuisance from October to May...static everything, dry skin, disrupted sleep due to discomfort, pollutants repeatedly cycled through the air for the entire duration, vents fecking up your furniture placements year round, and the expense of having all the crap sucked out of the ductwork annually. Forced air heating should be illegal dammit, but it's still the standard.

Sorry rant over. I'm sure the planet thanks you for reducing your emissions. :D
