Hey people, I am nw to growing and plan on doing outdoor growing. Lately i have been getting the area all nice for the seeds. The area is inclosed, so Wind is no problem and get's a fair amount of direct sunlight. Is there anything i should look for when buying seeds. To be honest, I just want to make some quick cash so then i can put more money into it and so on and so forth. Thanks
If yer lookin for "quick cash" don't think farming is the way to go! You spend, weed, dream, and figgit! And 4-5months later if the weather is fair you get to harvest, dry, carefully trim, meticulously cure, OH! did I mention that you're now 6 months since seeding? Then there's trying to get rid of the trim leaves. But I digress, If this is yer first time use bag seeds, they're free!>)
Bag seeds? I was thinking about choosing early girl. As I heard it's a great starter plant, resistant to mould and spray.
Bag seeds are found in bags of weed where the grower let their plants go to seed. Never grew Early girl.>)
Oh cool, Well I might buy from sensiseeds. They have a very good rep, Just be clearing the area today and found about 1ft down a load of clay.Hopfuly it's just a thin layer, Or i will have to dig rather far and use lots of compost.
I friend of mine had good luck last year in the NE growing early pearl from Mr Nice seeds. https://www.seedboutique.com/store/index.php?manufacturers_id=55
I definitely would not use bagseed. Why? Because you don't know if they'll even flower outdoors at your latitude. There are plenty of reasonable outdoor strains available on the net for about 20 quid a pack... sensi seeds are fairly expensive compared to most. Early Girl wouldn't be a bad choice at all and the Early skunk usually does fine in the UK too.
Yea I agree bag seed is best for first grow or two since they are free its not as big a loss if they dont make it to harvest. I have had some pretty good results from bag seed before but you just never know what it is and what strains it came from. But free is free..............
For indoor growing bagseed is just fine because you can control the environment, but for outdoors in the UK it's important to get something that flowers and matures early. It's the difference between a harvest and no harvest.
