Looking for a college in either California or Oregon

Hello, everyone!

I'm currently a junior in high school. Next year I will be applying to colleges and need to find some good hippie - but not necessarily party - schools. I would like to stay on the west coast, preferably in California and Oregon.

So far I have on my list

1. UC Berkeley (of course)
2. University of Oregon
3. Reed
4. UC Santa Cruz
5. Evergreen (? Not sure yet...I need to find out more about it)

So...

1. What can anyone tell me about those schools and their respective towns? I will be taking a road trip to visit the colleges on my list...is there anything I should check out while in town?
2.I'm a vegan raw foodist; are these colleges/towns raw-friendly?
3. Are there any other schools I should be looking at?

The U of O in Eugene is highly rated. Its also a very hip counter culture type town. I love going to Eugene when I travel around. Also, Eugene is voted to be one of the most liveable cities in the US. (and its the REAL home of The Simpsons, but you didn't hear that from me. )
