Why? my car is relativley new I got it new so I know no one fucked it up. I haven't had an oil change in 7k miles nor have I added oil to my car. Can it be lack of oil. I got my book thingie out and it shows me how to add oil so I am going to try that. What else could it be? It has 34 thousand miles on it and the temperature and oil pressure gauges are normal and it runs smooth no problems starting it ect. My ex used to take my car in for me and all that stuff so I have no idea about all this stuff. But could it be the oil?
check the oil, and add a fuel injector cleaner to the gas tank next time you fill up. service soon isnt that bad but 7k between oil changes is odds are it has something to do with you emissions. go to autozone and get a free diagnostic. take a someone that understands what the guy is saying with you.
Sometimes it means nothing that the engine light should flash - really - not being sacarstic here. But, you should have oil change every 5,000 km. I bought my car brand new in 97 and it is a 97. Every 5,000 km I go for the check-up to the dealer. They have certain points they have to check, ect... Last time it costed me like around 800$! What's cool though is that I go around and I'm relatively sure my car won't fuck up.
Our service engine comes on when it's time to change the oil. It is probably just that and the computer might need to be reset once you add oil but you should have it changed first. Don't wait too long but like avacado said, take someone with you that has an idea of what the mechanic is talking about so you don't get over charged.
I called the dealership and talked to this really cool guy who it turns out I actually new from junior college. he said my car is still undr warrnaty and that he can hook me up with a free rental car for monday and as long as my car is at the dealer. bugman I drive a 02 mustang...but often am tempted at the idea of cheating on it. I will probobly divorce it in a year unless either my dogs become less hyper in the car or I no longer have to take them everywhere. Thank you for the pm's...car trouble always makes me miss having a bf
it could be your radiator has a leak, or your water pump hose has a leak. after you go for a drive turn your car off and put your hand on the hood and if its really hot like its been in the hot sun for a couple hours than it has something to do with the water pump and you should get that checked out ASAP. let me know what happens ok
If you haven't changed your oil for 7,000 miles, I am surprised the engine hasn't seized up well before now. Just because you have enough oil, doesn't mean that old oil will protect your engine.
When my check engine light comes on, I like to cerimoniously stop the car, pop the hood, have a look, and then announce to everyone in the car, "yep, it's still there".
oh I have had mad service done to mine. its something to do with the catilytic(sp) convertor. nothing I need to sweat til I can afford to fix it.
