I think Radioshack should hire people that know at least something about electronics. I asked him a question about a L.E.D. and I got the "deer-in-headlights" look. That goes for all speciality stores. Like Autozone. What a joke. Or BestBuy. The man knows how much a subwoofer will put out and how to turn it up, but ask him a question about sensitivity or frequency response and you might as well be asking bob who changes your oil.
In Canada we have a computer store call Futureshop. They know shit. No, lemme rephrase that - they don't know shit...
My husband gets so frustrated talking to anyone in Best Buy or Circuit City. Most of the people that work there are students who just need a lil' extra cash. Even if they didn't know the answer they could at least be Customer Service oriented enough to find someone who could help you. They just might learn something in the process. The only store we have ever gotten a reasonably good answer in is Home Depot.
Home Depot in Canada (Quebec) is bullshit. Really. It's like they have an official opening in our country so they can say they're international but it's very expensive...
I love home depot! all the men in there are so nice and halpful and they'll even help you pick things out like just design wise!!!
a couple of the guys at the HD in my town are always asking ME questions about electrical stuff I also have a friend that has a master's degree in economics who was head of the PLUMBING dept at a HD ....and, yes, I also often get the 'deer in headlights' look at Home Depot and Radio Shack........
I used to work for Best Buy.. and let me tell you that they barely teach their employees shit.. they just stick you in front of a computer, make you take some stupid little tutorial, and thats it, your trained... If it werent for some nice co-workers, I wouldnt have had a single clue as to what to do or what to tell people there.. They treat their employees like shit too.
gah, silly kids, totally not hip on any fun technical things..even when they're not that deeply technical...meh, their loss. our headaches. *tear.
