Over the summer I was hanging out with my Uncle, and he told me how to make hard cider from fruits. He said in the 70's he used to make it, and sell it by the crate. He is one of the wisest men I know, I respect him more than most people I have met, and I trust his story. I would like to know how to do this (just on a quest for knowledge). I forgot what he told me though, I know it is basic fermenting. He lives in Vermont, so I can't ask him right now. This seems like a lonely part of the forums, but I thought it was worth an ask. I'll google it right now too, I just thought maybe other people would like to know also, it seems like an interesting little thing. Whatever peace and love, get back to me.
yep, it's like making wine but you use apple or pear or blackberry or whatever. Why not just order a kit online? Also, why not distill it and make some yummy pear whiskey?
I dunno if I have the time to set up a still. This summer is going to be sick, though. I have never had any Cider before, I'm guessing it's as potent as wine?
"Who's the pussy drinking piss?!" As they say. . No, it's just a cheap drink that hobo's drink to get drunk. Although I must say, it has got a nice flavour. I tend to stay away from cider, I go for the spirits.
Cider can be great, hobos drink shit like 'white lightning' which is about £2 for 3 litres. But a nice homemade cider can be fantastic. I would not consider cider something you would drink to get drunk though, it just nice to have as a normal drink. BTW unless you have a tried and tested recipe you probably won't like it much if you homebrew it, you'll just end up with the hobo shit.
