Ive currently got some lowryder 2 seedlings 3 weeks old in a soil/hyrdro clay in pots. Im letting them grow a good root base in the smaller cups before transplanting into coke bottle pots or somthing of the sort. When should i do this though they dont look strong enough for transplanting yet as theyre only just entering the vegetivive growth stage? thanks
A sign that transplanting is needed is when you are watering everyother day. It depends on the size they are currently in if you "feel" they need it. A healthy root system makes for a healthy vigorous plant.
At the minute im watering every 2 days or so. theyve just started to show sighns of either a magnesium or nitrogen deficiency. I reckin this could be coz i may have over watered and the pretty cool temps at night. Ill add that ive given them very very little grow ferteliser yet and have just up'd the dose to 1ml fertiliser and epsom salts for the magnesium deficiency.
i always feed at 6.5 but the dolomite in the soil means my soil ph is always 7. Also can i ask you- i folliar feed every ten days with a diluted solution at PH 6.5. But my grow bible contradicts its self- in one part it says always have the spray PH at 7 but in another it says strictly 6.5? does this really matter? will any nutrients be less avalable within that .5 range? thanks hope it makes sense, ive been smoking alot of K2 special.
I never foiler feed routinelly except when a Mg deficiency popped up. I would just use water to help keep the green clean. IMHO 0.5 of pH should not matter for foliar feeding. There is a chart somewhere that lists the correct pH range for nutrients and if I remember correctly ~7 is a wee bit high for one of the nutes (cannot remember off hand if it was a micro or marco nute) I would like to say Mg. It probably is not the pH but the lack of it in the fertilizer. Mmmmm K2 sounds good right now!! Check "The Bible" it should have the pH range and the nutrients on a nice lil chart.
Cheers for the advice bud. i think iron is slightly deficiant at 7? ill keep you posted on the grow. 3 beutifull little plants. ill try and get some pics of my fone. K2's good but a little to much of a head fuck if you actually try to do anything at all. i want to go for more cans of beers but im litterally to trippin to go out round my estate on a friday!
Autoflowering lowryder hybrids should be directly sown in a 6 ltr pot so as not to restrict the roots at all. With such a short growing season you don't want anything restricting growth.
Note Taken! Not really familiar with the ruderalis strains. I do know that the larger container when improperly watered tends to actually hurt proper root ball development. After harvest you will see the majority of the roots around the sides and bottom of the pot. By timing the transplanting correctly (prior to being root bound) you have incremental layers of healthy roots throughout and as a plus it helps reduce the build up of salts. FWIW.
Here's a good place for anyone interested in autoflowering dwarf varietys: http://www.planetganja.com/highsociety/forumdisplay.php?f=151 There's a guy there named Ch@ppers who's been growing and experimenting with autos for about 4 years or more now. He's tested varietys for 'M Danzig' and recently 'Lowlife' and he's played around with pot sizes ALOT. Personally i only ever grew a couple of masterlow outdoors but this year i have a handful of auto AK47 to try out ... and i cant wait!
Cheers for the advice people. Im gonna cut the bottom of the 3 small pots off and sit into coke bottles. Then gonna pot 5 germed seeds direct in bottles tommorow. Dont know if anybody can help with this but i was going to try and grow 'biggie small'' in the coke bottles too. this is coz of restricted space. will a single kola plant cope in a pot like this? I grew 1 of my AK's in a coke bottle and although yield was less than the others in big pots, the smoke finished earlier and was FANTASTIC.
