So yeah i have been looking into magic mushrooms and since nobody sells any i decided into looking into picking my own :p

I heard rumors that these can be picked in my area (we have a lot of pastures around 1 hr from my house) and when i looked up magic shroom picking these sparked my interest- Psilocybe cubensis. Apparently this mushroom is suppose to grow year around on the gulf coast? Haha..exactly where i am located.

Anybody got some good hints for me?

wait till spring time and drive around country roads you can see those gold caps poppin off pats, i found tons in tennessee, my buddy used to pick tons in alabama. If you keep eyes peeled they're fairly easy to spot from the road.

lemme put it this way, they're easier to find on pats in the gulf area than it is to grow them, though if you were to conveniently allready have a clean lab and sterile technique down it's a breeze.

Find someone who has picked in your area. Research.

big part of the mushroom picking journey is to find your own spots and not tell any one where they are at.

I heard someone say wait til after a rain. That way I guess they're easier to get out of the patties.

A little bit of knowlege is a dangerous thing. First, learn to ID the poisonous mushrooms in your area.

When would be the ideal time to go look? Would it be like after a rain on a warm day, and go look the next day when things are drying or what would be the ideal weather conditions?

70 degrees morning after a day it rained, if I recall correctly.
