I'm reposting this here, was originall located in the Florida section

Hi there, I'm David. I'll make this somewhat brief =/. My father has completly abandoned me a couple years back, my mother is/was (I've no idea if she is alive anymore) a violent alcoholic who has been in and out of the hospital for cerosis of the liver. She threw me out on my 18th birthday with no job and no where to go ( I wasn't allowed to get a job). up till now I've been living with a friend and her mother. I was told that I could stay till I graduated high school but the mother has changed her mind and says she wants to spend the last ear she has with her daughter with just her daughter. She wants me out in two weeks. This has bewildered me considering I took care of them so very often because they are a sickly couple rather often and get injured easily, I also always encouraged them to do things together and I would just go wander outside. But it's what she wants and I'm not going to fight her decision. The problem is I don't really have any place to go while I finish highshool. My main goal is to just finish high school so I have options. I learned of rainbow in very little depth from a couple of kind hippies that aproached me, pheonix and loki. I was wodering if the family might be able to help me get by while I finish highschool. I'm willing to do anything, change schools, camp, w/e I'd sleep out of a car if I had one. I don't eat much and materialism is unknown to me. I'm in good health as well. If theres anyone out there that can help or at least give advice, then please do.

I have suggested this before to another person, but also told her to use her judgement and extreme caution as to the advise I could give.

There is a place on the internet that is called Couch Surfing. It will at least help you to stay somewhere temporary, you'll have to jump from couch to couch and it's for free. There is also something called craigs list where you can find places to rent or bunk with someone really cheap.

The 2nd bit of advice that I can give you is to definitly get through high school. Get awesome grades and apply to colleges requesting full grants. If you get full grants that means you will be living on campus for free + getting an education. College is so important these days, don't ever stop furthering yourself through education. Get through it no matter what... I did, it was freakin hard, but I got through it. I now have a good paying job, a husband and am currently moving from an apartment to a house.

Don't give up. If you do you will only be letting yourself down. Do what you need to do to get by even in the roughest of instances, but don't give up.

I know what your going through brother, I had been homeless before, and not in a ood way for a long time. Hang in there, and I'll be praying for you, to find a place, till you get out of school. You sound like a special person, and take care of yourself, that is all that you can do. Be careful! PEACE & BLESSINGS! LINDA
