Is only in 168 short days! That dates have been announced on http://www.virginmobilefestival.com/ For those of you who went last year or the year before, what did you think? Although I'm not an avid recycler myself, kudos to Virgin for making the plates/cups/ect. biodegradable... When HFStival was around, there was garbage everywhere, and few places to throw trash away... At Vfest, there were loads of volunteers standing by to clean up very efficiently, and people near the recycling stations to help out people. I REALLY liked the line-up both years... Absolutely phenominal, and they tried to (as best as they could) to keep 2 popular bands from playing at the same time, which was cool, and the acts in between weren't as crappy as I had expected. The food was a bit overpriced, but it was really good for fest fare; the mixed drinks were a very nice touch, and the watering stations and cooling tents were great- I passed out during the Amy Winehouse set (it was so friggin hot the first day last year), and the misting tents were a BIG help. When I was at the South stage for 311 and Matisyahu, I was very pleasantly surprised to see the relaxed demure of the police/security... A couple kids were in full view of the Po, lighting loaded bongs and all, and nothing happened. It's nice to see that kind of reserved nature from the BCPD for once... The admission for both years wasn't as bad as it could be; I paid 90 bucks just to see the Stones, so 150 was NOT bad at all (I got to touch Sting's hand!) Overall, out of the rest of the fests I've been to, this is the best. What bands do you think will be in the lineup this year? I heard rumor of Foo Fighters; that'd be neat. It would be great if Flaming Lips came back to play, though!
