I was wondering if my ear is getting infected, I haven't been cleaning it as much as I should. So when I do clean it the residue that wipes away(very little residue) is kind of stinking smelling. But the rest of my ear looks fine.
sounds like pricing cheese. the "cheese" is due to poor hygine. try washing it with dove for sentsive skin. don't use soap of any kind! they are all harsh. dove is not soap. it's quite mild. after washing, put alcohol it. if your ear changes color and/or blood or fluid comes out, go see a doctor.
Yep, ear cheese. Sexy, huh. basically, this is a mix of dead skin cells, skin oils, and the bacteria that eat the oil and dead skin. Its not an "infection," but just rather a sign that you aren't rinsing away all the oils and skin cells as regularily. Cleaning with plain water or a gentle cleanser is best. Please don't put alcohol on the piercing. There is no need to because there is no infection. Alcohol kills living cells, so its good for cleaning out dirty wounds, but, if you use it on healing tissue, it will kill them too. Alcohol is also very dryiing, so it may cause irritation. In general, your body will heal itself as long as you keep the area clean with simple water/sea salt soaks.
ear cheese it is, but i wouldnt advise using dove. take a look at the ingredient list and then try to tell me its gentle lol. use water or pears soap or some natural soap. real soap isnt harsh, detergent is harsh. dont use anything that has chemical surfactants like SLS (found in most "soaps" for hands, face and body) for the record, ear cheese is usually a sign that the piercing is healed.
What wandering said. -blackcat666- How can you say not to use soap as it is harsh, yet recommand putting alcohol on the piercing? Also agreed.. dove is not mild.
