are Spanish people nice to foreigners?

sorry for the english.

i'm going to travel around europe next summer, and i'm bound to end up in spain at some point. I'd hope to learn some of your language, but i'm a total dumbass, so it's not going to be much. are your people likely to be friendly to me, or are spanish people notoriously hostile towards tourists? should i worry much about the language?

just wondering. i'm nervous as hell.

 

Yep, I think we're nice to foreigner people, but you know, there are always bastards everywhere. I think you shouldn't worry about the language, but if you learn some Spanish, it won't be a bad thing.

 

pffft, theres no such thing as a whole nationality of rude pple (and no, the french arent rude either)...
actually, ive met incredibly sweet spanish pple, and really dumb ones as well... but when u're a tourist pple are generally really nice

I've been to Spain a few times, I think the Spanish people are brilliant. All you have to do is "TRY". If they can see that you are willing to learn their language and their ways, then there should be no problem.

I love Spain...spent probably 3 to 4 months there total (so far) and I never met anyone that I disliked.

Many of the younger half of the population speak some English..

 

I presume you're not portuguese, so I think there won't be any problems... But if you were, I guess you would be fucked up... I don't know why the majority of the spanish people are so mean to us... lololol! We welcome them in our country! It's true! When the Spanish come to Portugal, we try to understand them because our languages are very simillar... But when we go to Spain they keep saying "no compriendo" and we have to talk in english and sometimes some people can be very rude! And, as I said, our languages are very simillar, it's easy for us to understand eachother... For example, I can speek portuguese with Migle that he understands most of the things I'm saying...and vice versa! Well, he's a very kind Spanish
I know there are always stupid people everywhere, here too, of course... But it's notorious that the Spanish don't dig much the Portugueses...Maybe it's kind of a consequence from our countries History...lololol! (yeah, Portugal got independent!!!yuuuhhh!!!)

 

Well, I must agree with Ayesha I'm a very kind spanish, lolol , yep, there are a lot of Spanish people who aren't very kind with or to the Portuguese, but I think it's because of a lack of culture, the only thing that a lot of people here know about Portugal is that they have very good towels
They are our neighbours and we should get on very well, but that's not the reality. It's sad.
And about the Portuguese speaking, well, most of the times I act as if I understood Ayesha and she never realized, but don't tell her

And don't suffer we'll conquer Portugal again in not very long. Lisbon will become our second capital mwahahahahahhaha :X

The spanish people is very nice, really. I went to Madrid a few years before, and I spent very well. And also I have a lot of friends in Spain, all of them cute persons. Don't worry lol.
