I'm sorry, that must suck. If the "real world" was like high school from my perspective I would have shot myself in the head years ago.
high schools easy, ya always got a place with a roof over your head and a guaranteed meal..sure u get alotta bullshit to deal with, but u deal with it in relative confort and with a full belly the real world nothings guaranteed..not the roof, not the meal, nothing, except perhaps the bullshit n the assholes u think the assholes in school are bad? when your out there in the real world, you'll still be hangin with kids your own age right? kids tend to be assholes to eachothedr, and when your hangin round others who dropped out n are goin nowhere fast, bein anm asshole doesnt mean stupidity like a sucker punch oin the hall, it means rippin ya off for everything u got, u cant escape assholes, u can only grow up along side them, wait it out for them to mature as you do, and learn how to deal woith it better they wont be assholes forever, and neither will your life be as hard as it is now, your just at that age when everything sucks cause everyone u know is tryin to learn how to get along and usualy failing at it miserably but its all a learning process, and trust me my school sucked incredibly, but where i ended up after that sucked way way more sure some ppl quit & can fall into a great career and easyu life, but ya think thats the norm? it isnt....just weigh your choices carefuly, the lessons in school maybe borin n suck, but the lessons of life can sure be hard and what u chose today can affect every tomorow
Awwww, poor me, shooting his head off 'cause the worlds a fucking high school! HAHAHAHA God I hate people. What was that? Nihilistic?
It's all about attitude. If you sit around and are negative about everything, of course things are going to suck. But if you make the best of things, life, the world, other people, etc....things aren't so bad in the grand scheme of things... Once you learn to accept people for who and what they are...regardless...you are a much happier person.
Oh don't take me the wrong way. I accept everyone for who they are. I believe we all, together, make up one brain. We are each one cell in this giant brain. (The Gaian mind) I just have a serious problem with stupid people. I can't stand being around them. That's just me, and I've accepted that :]
There are a lot of stupid people in the world...they aren't going away anytime soon. May as well get used to it *shrugs*
I'm well aware of that. I try and keep my distance. It's not that I hate them.... they just EXTREMELY annoy me. I can't help it. It's who I am. I get severely irritated by dumb people. I can not get used to it. I'm an "american-indian." I don't know if this has anything to do with it, or not... We're all different. I'm a crazy hermit. I'm sure I must annoy the hell out of people. Sorry!
I live in texas and you have to be 18 to quit school on your own. Also if you're 16 and quit school you can't keep your drivers license, because every 6 months you have to go to the driver license office and prove your still in school. My youngest son did drop out when he was 15. Actually I had started to homeschool him and then he stopped that so not only did he not graduate but couldn't get his drivers license until he was 18. My son will be 20 in 1 week. he has a job and is studying to pass his ged. He found out the hard way that the really good jobs or promotions go to those with at least a high school diploma. Did you know that you can't even work at Mcdonalds, Lowes, Home Depot, walmart..any place like that without a diploma or the promise that you will get it in a few months. I don't know what your situation is, I'm just letting you know what my son went thru and is still going thru. I know high school is a bitch. I hated it myself, but I did graduate. You might could even get into a work program where you only have to go half a day. For those who wrote you to drop out and told you about the great opportunities that came their way...well thats really good for them, but chances like those do NOT come around often. My advice, and I know you didn't ask for it would be to stay in school and get your diploma. Good luck to you in whatever you decide to do, and I wish you a successful life.
Okay my two cents, I make $14/hour. That is good pay for someone my age, but not enough for me to live on for the rest of my life. A high school drop out will make a very low salary. Does money always count? Well it does to me because there are people who work very hard day-in and day-out. We pay taxes. Some of our tax money is put into social programs, like welfare. I think welfare is a good thing because no one should go hungry, but EDUCATION is also important to decrease the dependence on welfare. I've been working since I was in 9th grade of high school. I'm graduating college this year while working full time and student teaching. Am I stressed or intimidated by the work load? Nope, because I have found ways to channel my stress and negativities. Yoga and a great diet works wonders. Your years in high school will go by fast. Do not give up and sell yourself short. You're worth more than that; we are all.
Emphasis my own. It's like that in Georgia as well. While they don't require you to go the the office to prove you're in school, if you drop out, the school does notify the DMV. If you get pulled over, you're SOL and license is gone until you're 18. Now, what kind of job do you think you can get without a car? Let me tell you, I couldn't even get a job in high school while I had above a 4.0, spoke 3 languages, and had no legal problems at all SIMPLY because I did not drive. I'll give you a hint: drop the 'tude. Whining about "preps" and "rednecks" make you seem much younger than you are. The last time I heard the term prep was when I was in middle school. There will ALWAYS be people you hate in life. Are you going to quit a job every time you get annoyed by the people you work with? Will you move every time you see a neighbor with a popped collar? The real world is every bit like high school... the only difference is most people of average intelligence and maturity wise up and deal with it. There are cliques at work (no matter if you're working landscaping, in an office, at a store, whatever), some people will always look down on you, and there will always be jerks. If you drop out, you're just setting yourself up for a shitty start because everyone looks down on high school drop outs. A GED is not the same as a high school diploma no matter what anyone tells you. If you go to college, it becomes more of a nonissue, but if you're presenting yourself to future employers as a kid who whimped out of high school, what does that tell them about your work ethic? Or your ability to cope with stressful or unpleasant situations? High school is only as bad as you make it.
well I cant cope with it. its not like I hate it just because theres "preps" (I dont care when you last heard it either) I hate it because, I cant sit quitely without one of them starting shit. I mind my own business, keep to myself and dont bother anyone. But you know what? none of it matters because they are always the first to say something, just because I dont meet their standards. Its not like Im trying to anyways. Im going to get my GED and work until I can go to community college. Im not planning on being some big shot scientist or anything like that anyways. I now what Im doing with my life.
Honestly I feel bad that so many people are brainwashed into thinking they have to go to high school. I got my GED, I take college classes sometimes. Why would I need to waste my time and get a DIPLOMA? What are you so afraid of? The fact that a lot of us realize there's more to life then living in some crappy city driving a car? FEAR US!
Le sigh I don't want to argue with you. I'm perfectly happy with my opinion. Godspeed, everyone. "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of your law"
