as a child, with no understanding of what was going on and on one around me that believed me, of course there was fear. i'm no longer fearful but curious about what it is i'm witnessing.

 

They say experiences of this sort are most common among pre-pubescent kids/teenagers ... usually girls but sometimes boys. The theory seems to fit with me anyway (i'm a guy, age 39 now) because i had such an experience when i was about 10 or 11.

My friend lived in an old victorian or edwardian terraced house which was just plain creepy. It had a proper stone cellar and a creepy attic room ... just to make things worse we'd stay up and watch horror films and tell ghost stories and my mates step brother would tell us of the ghosts of a child and a rabbit he'd seen in the attic (most probably BS!). The central heating and the floorboards would make strange noises all night and everyone seemed to hear footsteps up and down the stairs in the dead of night.
.... so it was spooky alright and i hated sleeping the night there also because i was used to a streetlight outside my house, whereas they slept in pitch darkness.
It was scary enough that one night i remember running down the street in my pyjamas after my mum when she left, begging to go home with her :leaving: .

So i was staying there one night ... in my friend room ...large room, tall ceiling, with cupboards built into the thick stone adjoining wall. My friend's bed at one side of the room and mine at the other, with one of these cupboards at the foot of my bed. The cupboards un-nerved me slightly and i looked in them before going to bed ... the one by my bed just had a couple of books in it despite being a large cupboard (at home sometimes i would 'adjust' things in my room before sleeping so they didn't make scary shapes or shadows :& ).

So the lights go out and it's pitch black and i have the covers pulled up over my head with just a peephole to see the blackness with ... and i can't stop thinking about the cupboard .... i was fearing that it would open and a skeleton or something fall on me ...y'know, the normal kind of things 11 yr olds fear . ... and this wen't on for probably 20 minutes or a half hour, me, freaking myself out with my thoughts about this cupboard.
Then i heard the cupboard burst open, ... and it sounded pretty forceful, it was too dark to see anything and i froze absolutely petrified for a minute or so before dashing for the lightswitch.
The cupboard doors were hanging open (no skeleton! :huh: ) and i couldn't wake my friend ... and there was no fishing line between the cupboard and his bed either. I made my bed on the floor next to his and eventually slept, with the light on.

So thats my little poltergiest story. For me, it's just uncanny that i spent half an hour worrying about something that was logically, EXTREMELY unlikely to happen ... and then, ...it happening! (minus the skeleton).
Perhaps the door was somehow gonna burst open anyway and my fear was due to an unconcious precognition or knowing edging into my conciousness?

Was it all just coincidence?
Did someone next door (an old couple ... most likely in bed hours ago) give the wall a massive whack at 12.30 am?
Were the cupboard doors closed by me in such a way that allowing for some warp and movement in the house itself it may have been 'sprung' ... and 'primed' (if you like) to spring open with such force? I doubt it ... the force was too strong for that and anything from next door both.

Did my uninterupted thinking and fearing about the event 'make' it happen? To me it sounds like the most far out explaination but also the most likely. It's just uncanny.
And what's the pre-pubescent thing about? Perhaps it is because it is a large change in our growth of conciousness (which we also may fear alot) ... a time when we are becoming more and more indepentant, our identity and ego getting stronger, and we become more polarised into our sexual gender and separation. Perhaps this is just a really hard time for some (it was for me ... i feared growing up and had sexual fears too) and energy gets repressed or something and builds up ...for release?

I read/am told that 'energy follows thought' ... and in my 39 years, particularly since a full on kundalini awakening/death/merging with and becoming love experience when i was 27, i have noticed with all my ups and downs ... that i do seem to get what i expect, or at least see it the way i expect it to be; Like jesus said (supposedly), "As you believe, so shall it be unto you."
I'm only just starting to form a belief that we do indeed create our lives 'on the go' with our dreaming and thinking and belief ... perhaps according to a greater whole and plan also?

I may not be able to conjure a skeleton but can i make a cupboard door burst open if i believe hard enough?

ive had a full on number 7. drugless....complete with silly noises in the head. felt like i were gonna explode or something. my bloody bedroom was some kind of stargate or something. really warped out shit...i was about 16. it did it after messing with a ouiji board... i thought i was possessed, or giant ants were gonna get me....lol, perhaps now it might of been some kinda mind expansion, unintentional. *scratches head*i've never been the same since...so i could be possessed

 

oh and i can blow lights and plugs fuses too and make phones ring when theyre not connected...whoo hoo... does that count?
thing is, i can only do it when reaaaaly mad, bad, or sad...not when i'm happy
and not when i want them too...meh

 

my sister when she was about 12 says she saw a dwarf. she still swears she saw it, it was a ugly father christmas type in her bedroom........a few days before christmas or something. i've never seen any dwarves. but a girl at school i remember her saying her granma used to see these too at the foot of the bed, just where my sister saw hers.

One time i thought some ghost or spirit was in my room cause i swear something was there until i remembered i smoked tough on the weed last weekend then just remembered im crazy.

A 'no#7' is the crown chakra, right? Yeah i had funny noises too. Did you meet the light? ... i was on E at the time but my ego had been gradually dying/falling away for 2 years prior to that experience... kind of an initiation/preparation - It was hell. The E was kind of like 'dutch courage' to help me take the leap of faith into the unknown. My ego was just scared and stubborn ... i needed it to let go, but now i know whats really there i don't think i'll need E the next time.

Hey Dwarves are common in scandinavian and icelandic folklore, and even today people say they see them there (and giants) all the time. And African tribal/voodoo cultures are full of stories of the 'little people'. Also the Irish/Welsh and their 'fairy folk'.

 

Actually i kinda felt that my house at the time was located around a 'power center' of some kind ... sure, like a stargate or something. I went to see the film stargate at the cinema just a couple of weeks later. That whole time was fucking wierd!

broony - cannabis CAN raise your conciousness temporarily ... perhaps enough to be aware of spirits around you. Don't forget ... you are a spirit too.

When we first moved in this house I moved from a place where I was dealing with spirits everyday, to a place where all I had to deal with was a "cat".

I really didn't mind the ghost cat though because I figured as long as it was here we didn't need an alive one and this way my furniture was clean.

However, when my husband was laying on the floor there was a giant black panther laying behind him that scared the SHIT out of me. I just walked in the room stared at him, then I walked away. He made me tell him anyway though. For some reason the asshole goes, "It's laying down isnt it?"

nothing major but i was at a friends house and she claims that a ghost of a young girl wearing a bonnet lives in the house. i have never personally seen the ghost but a few of her friends have and one time she had a candle around christmas time (u know, the ones lit by light bulbs?) and you had to turn it in a circle to turn it on (like a maglight) and we would turn it on and slowly watch it spin the opposite way and turn off again, thought it was really strange.

 

Hey FinnishButterfly, is there a chance that you are seeing appiritions of power animals? I suppose Black jaguars/panthers are native to central/south america and black leopards exist too but they are an African animal. In other words maybe 'spirit animal' rather than 'ghost animal'.
The same could be true of the domestic cat.

 

it seems little people/dwarf like are seen everywhere. my friend in germany saw one with a group of friends when out at night around a campfire... he said he was just standing there with a big smile on his face staring at them...

kinda scary if u can picture that, some little dwarf guy just smiling insanely at u... no drugs were taken, he even quit the drink. a german quit drinking!?

i'll NEVER, for the rest of my LIFE, forget this one:
when i was in 3rd grade, i liked sleeping in my living room a lot. one night, at 1 AM my dog barked out of the window and woke me up. i looked at the clock and saw something out of the corner of my eye; i turned my head and saw a bride, standing, about....15 feet away from the couch.
she was dead, her flesh was hanging off of her bones and she was swaying. her dress and stringy hair were being blown, like there was a wind in the room, but the air was totally still.
there were faces of children on the wall and they were mouthing words, but there was no noise. it was like the sound was sucked out of the room.
then the bride pointed at me and started WALKING. TO. ME.
man, i put that blanket over my head so fast! i didn't sleep for hours after that, i was just waiting to feel her poke or grab me. i woke up the next morning with the blanket still over me.

another time, around same age, i woke up suddenly in the middle of the night and felt a bulge at the foot of my bed. i sat up and saw a man curled up at my feet. i was very calm; i just stared at him for about 5 minutes. he was breathing; i saw his back going up and down. i thought of poking him but didn't want to bug him, so i just watched him sleep. after awhile, i laid back down and fell asleep again.

 

We were moving into a house, and one night I heard "my niece" walk from her room to mine, stop at my open door, then walk down to my brother and sister-in-laws room. My bro and sis-n-law heard her too, but she didn't get in bed with them. They figured she had laid on the floor near their bed and went back to sleep, so got up to put her back - but no one was there.
I saw something at my door. Green fog? but not little, a grown-up size. The foot steps, sleepy shuffles, were heard by all 3 of us.
Sis-n-law's naturalist Mom lit some herbs and invited it to leave and go be happy. Never had another experience that was like that.

 

i dunno if you could call this a ghost but it was definately out of the ordinary. There i am sitting in bed with the light turned off about to get it and a big red spotlight shit quickly across my wall, crazy ay, then about 5 seconds later, what looked like a shadow ran across the length of my wall.

 

ive experienced a shadowy apparation thing. quite a few times.

 

3) family member- when i was three years old my grandmother sang to me. i have posted the story on the boards numerous times over the years.

i have also experienced a shadow appartition which was the scariest thing in the world. i had some bitch with me and she seen it too. we were walking around in the middle of the night and turned a corner and saw this tall human like figure.. with no feet or face and it appeared to be floating and had a menacing sort of vibe.. we stopped dead in our tracks and ran to get my brothers girlfriend to show her. when we came back it wasnt there.

 

This looks ancient, but I'll answer anyway because I'm bored...

1. residual Haunting- nope

2. Traditional Haunting- In the house where I live now (an ancient farmhouse), we have hear a medium sized man come down the stairs, had lights turn on and off, hot spots, faucets turning on and off and disembodied voices. Stuff seems to happen more often when there is a particular guy in the house (one of my college friends who suffers from depression and recently lost his dad), but it's not always the case. Sometimes they just do stuff. Once I was sweeping the floor upstairs in preparations for a visit from my boyfriend when from behind me, I heard the door to the guest room (its usual haunt) open. I turned around, but the door was still closed, but as I looked at it, it opened for real. I screamed a little, but then decided it would be better to pretend I was okay with it (I'm down with coexisting) and just continue sweeping. Nothing else happened that day.
Before that, when I was living in my previous home (the apartment), I used to have the covers pulled off of me. It happened a couple of times before I finally pulled the covers up over my feet and reached down there to see if there was a cat pulling it or something... and I felt fingers... fuckin' a, my mom had to practically talk me down from the ceiling...

3. Family members- no... honestly can't say how I would react to that... brrr...

4. animals- The ghost of my first cat spent a couple of nights jumping up on my bed and sitting at my feet and purring until I fell asleep. It was pretty cool, but made me cry... Then when my aunt's dog passed away, out of the corner of my eye, I saw both the dog and my deceased cat walking side-by-side together toward the back door. I presumed he was escorting my aunt's dog to the afterlife. It was neat, but when I turned to get a better look, it was gone.

7.Poltergeist- YES, and it was so cool. I named it Larry, lol. I actually asked it to move into our new house with us when we left our apartment. Anyway, onto the story: When I was in middle school, I was miserable. I was so effing depressed and angry and malnourished and anxious and just generally not in a very zen place. My mother and I clashed a lot, and when we did, candles would go flying across the room and smash at her feet. The fight usually stopped there, heh.

And APPARITIONS

1. full apparition- Early one morning at work, I was sweeping the floor facing a wall of plate-glass windows. It was dark outside, so if I looked at the windows, I could see my reflection in them. One particular time, I looked up and saw a large woman in a yellow shirt walk in through the door behind me and move like she was going to walk up the stairs to my right. I turned to say good morning and step out of the way, but when I turned around, no one was there. This was the first full-body apparition I had ever seen. I was very excited.

2. white apparition- Once, when I was at my dad's house... Growing up, I had always felt uneasy and often fearful there (see next story). Then one morning, years after my parents split, I was sleeping and woke up, suddenly feeling very warm. It was morning, and the sun was up, so as I looked out the window, I thought the sun was shining in my eyes. Then I realized the white glowing orb was moving. As it drew closer, I suddenly felt my lips move and heard my voice saying, "it's the white light of God," before I passed out. My mother, knowing I feared the house, often talked of how she prayed for an angel to be with me when I left, to protect me from the entities in the house. It sounds like a cracked-out fantasy, but I swear it's true.

3. Shadowy apparition-I used to see these at night when I was 6, then I stopped sleeping in that room... A friend of mine who claims to be psychic said it was because there was a doorway there and spirits that came through didn't really understand what was going on, so they had this shadowy form. They looked downright evil to me, with slanted red eyes. Usually, they just assembled in my room and moved about, speaking to one another, but I can't remember if I could hear them or not. One night, after my mother had advised me to leave my bedside lamp on to scare them away, one of them saw me and took notice of me for the first time. It walked over to me and bent down over me, just a few inches from my face. I don't rememeber what happened after that- just that the next thing I knew, I was in my parents' room crying for them to let me sleep with them. I managed to fall asleep after that somehow, but I had a nightmare that one came into my parents' room and tried to drag me out of bed.
I did actually see a shadow ghost in my parents' room, but this was on a separate night. I had come into my parents' room when it was just my mother and I (my dad worked nights) and I was laying in bed. She was sleeping, but I was laying awake looking out the window when I saw the sillhouette of a man with a mop of curly hair walk by it. I was frozen, but after the initial shock wore off, I woke my mother and told her what I saw. She always believed me. That's one thing I'm grateful for...
