Slave?? sandals

I was with my mum the other day and she was complaining about my barefootness, so we got talking about slave sandals. She told me when she was in primary school they were all the rage and they used to make them from raffia, but she doesn't remember how. Does anyone know how to do this?

 

no idea... tried doing a google search but can't seem to find what you're looking for... ?

 

theyre like bottomless sandals. they loop around your ankle and your second toe. you can easily make them out of string and beads or hemp
