i don't know how many of you know about this, but there's a company called dynegy that has plans to make many more coal-fired power plants across the united states. there is currently one in the works for georgia, and the only way to stop it is to get grassroots support to show them that we don't want something so disgusting on our land.

http://cleanupdynegy.org/ spread the word! this is old technology, and no coal is clean, no matter what they say.

have any questions about what's going on? about coal in general? mountain top removal? send them my way. or hey, let's start a discussion even!

apparently very few of us do! i think more people would care if they were informed, but these massive companies are so skilled at hiding everything from the public until it's too late.

I had to do a report on coal fired power plants a while back
    Here's a paragraph.

"Recent health studies show the health hazards from coal fired power plants are more life threatening then they thought. The emissions of the power plants include selenium and mercury. Selenium is an element that when in high doses can be toxic. Mercury is the most toxic emission. The power plants use the water for cooling and then the mercury polluted water goes into the river, then the fish are polluted and you eat them. Yuck! It can cause damage to your nervous system. Some the airborne toxins are mercury, carbon monoxide, particulate matter, ozone, nitrogen oxide, and sulfur dioxide. All of these things make it harder to breath and the ozone is melting the polar icecap, contributing to global warming."

    Scary stuff.
