I will be somewhat brief with my explanation, so I can give plenty of room for opinions either opposing or adding on to the subject. I am not starting this conversation out of depression or a heart break. Just, looking for some interesting conversation.

Love is a word tossed around quite a bit. But, I feel a lot of people are not experiencing the same thing that comes out of their mouth. I do realize there are varying types of loves. But it seems it has become a word that replaces anything that you care for. From a brother or sister to your cat. But, what truely defines being in love with someone?

Ill start with puppy love. As soon as you find someone that has intriguing chemistry, and you are physically attracted to. You develop a crush for them. As you begin dating, and you get to the point when you are comfortable with physical contact. I think you fall into the puppy love stage. Usually this lasts six months to year. But, eventually it spikes and it not as enticing nor exciting as it once was. I am not saying this feeling goes away, but it comes down a notch. At this point a lot of people feel that they should get married. But, how are you to judge someone based on puppy love?

I do not think anyone can truely say they love someone until they truely know someone. By this I mean living them, and truely understanding how they act behind closed doors. Being able to accept their choices in life, from ambitions to ideas such as this. Of course, if their sexual desire is close to yours.

I will cut myself short by saying, I feel there is no way you pick out a soul mate based on experiencing all the "up's" with someone. Is there even a question why a divorce rate is so high in our society?

It means whatever the hell you want it to mean. Most people behave as if its a 'thing' that actually exists, it's a subjective abstraction. R.E. the 'soul mate' jive, the amount of times of heard that for it to end up in divorce/separation.

all words are vague, meanings are divined from vector, context.

not just the context in a sentence, but their societal context, the region the word is used in, and the understanding of the person saying and hearing it

nothing is absolute in the realm of language, and to think so is to forget reality.
