And have been since I was 16. I'm 28 now.

It started with painful periods due to endo. During my period if I don't take pain killers I can't even move. Then, when my wisdom teeth came in it hurt so I started taking even more. Now, even when I'm not having my period I pop at least 10+ painkillers per day. If I don't I get sick.

how are you getting them? are you buying them illegally or do you have a perscription for some reason? this is a major problem, and i am sorry that you are having to deal with this, i have had friends that have had similar conditions, what kind of pills are you taking? smaller things like tabs or percs, or are you taking oc? you should really get help, let someone know, what you are doing and get help fast before it gets even wose...if possible.

Man my bro has ran up a bill of somewhere close to 70,000 dollars on those goddamned thigns, that was in a period of about 6 monthes. It's really sad, but luckily he payed for most of it and mom and dad were able to pay the 20,000 for rehab.

I'd get some help, if I were you. I used to take em as well, and know how addicting they are. Eventually, your liver is going to shut down, and that wouldn't be good. :(

I don't have a perscription. I take OTCs like asprin and ibu (don't let anyone tell you things like that aren't addictive because they are) and I take Loritab given to me by a very understanding friend who got tired of seeing me in pain all the time. I also have problems with my sleep, so I take Vallium.

A very hard situation, I am a Cali Nurse, I have ran Methadone
clinics, most people believe these clinics are for Herion users,
but most of my patients are there due to long term use of
analgesic's (Pain Killers), and most are inno-cent victums,
merely from bad accidents, long years of physical rehabilitation,
NOW!, you won't be giving up one addiction for another, after
about a week of doctor ordered and monitored doses, your brain
will in fact begin to not have cravings for Vicodin/Lortab/Oxy-C,
Methadone has no high to it, you will begin to feel normal, the
methadone is a class two narcotic, a pain killer in it's self,
within a month of steady treatment you will have no desire to pop anything else, and the best
part of methadone is, it blocks the desire to use without you "Having
to be strong", or "Just saying no", it tricks the brain, you'll find even
if your offered something, held out! right in front of you, you will be
saying no thanks before you even think about it, as your treatment
goes, lets say your at 50mg's, you will titrait, this means to decrease,
or increase, up or down, but you will come down in increments of 5mg's
after a period of "Detox", soon your at 45, then 40 and so on, till your
taking 5mg's a day, I have seen many success stories first hand, and
most of them we're in fact herion users for years, then one day they
dosed their last 5mg's and I never seen them again. These methadone
clinics are everywhere, so if you travel, you can have what they call
temporary dosage at other clinics, so you can continue living normal,
without the worrying of taking some with you, or buying from someone
when you get to a place unfamiliar, I recomend highly that you at least
look into these programs, speak to the doctor, who will answer all your
questions and fears, and you will see that there is help, and a future
from this terrible situation, terrible yes, but absolutely not hopeless.
Please look into this, we only get one life, don't spend the rest of yours
chasing that little white lie, God bless.

painkillers of any type are very bad for your liver if you take them for long periods of time... i'm not a doc, but I used to pop two percs every four hours for months on end b/c my wisdom teeth hurt so bad, my doc would tell me I had to stop cos of risk of liver failure, so I'd switch to a different doc and do it again; gradually taking more from another source I found... that was a lady who took them way longer than I did... she said she averaged took around 30-50 percs a day (!) for ten years; and she died of a failed liver. That's what woke me up, and I quit. Kinda crazy too, only after I quit taking them did the pain stop... my wisdom teeth came in fine, the pain was all in my mind.
