so in taking lsd i have changed the way i dress over and over. id love to wear some awsum trippy clothes, but not to over the top. goin to this rave on the weekend there were alot of crazy people with awsum clothes. but iv looked on the net and usually come across crap, or too over the top shit, and no stores near me sell anything im looking for. anyone here buy any clothes off the internet or know any sites with some awsum clothes at. just in taking lsd you can get sick of certain things or clothes or identities. differnt clothes>differernt feeling>differnt personalities if your comfortable in your clothes than your more outgoing, and if you wear clothes which you really feel good in that represent you and add to your identity or personality than thats awsum.
It's quite hard to find yes. I remember in London circa 1960s there was a store called "Granny Takes a Trip", it was great, cool hip pyschadelic clothing that didn't make you look like some post-modern freak.
I am really a hippi/skater/extreme/smart at heart guy personality-wise but I wear preppy skater cloths Its weird too because I hate conformists with a passion yet I fit right in with them clothing wise If I were to wear hippi clothing or slaggy skater garb to fit my carefree/independent nonconformist views I would be a conformist for trying to 'impress' others, in that I am wearing cloths not for comfort and protection, but for others to judge me by /paradox
I know you're looking for online sources, but for a cheaper option, check the sales racks at department stores. That's where they stick the loudest, ugliest, least popular stuff. I got a tye dyed polo shirt once that was marked down 80%.
ye good point. For example I wear this really warm and comfortable big jacket. It doesn't fit in with the "persona" society and people would expect me to wear in relativity to what else I may be wearing or the people I may be around or places I may be going. But its comfy, so I like it. When I was walking around a shopping centre today I saw a whole bunch of different little groups, all matching in the persona they were projecting and the behaviour they were abiding by and it seemed like they were slaves almost - all conforming to the expectations of what their personalities should be like and representing that to concrete themselves in the world. Like saying "hey, this is me and this is what im about! yee-wot!". By subjecting yourself to conform to a persona established by society and your culture, your simply fitting in so you can exist within that culture/society. But you dont have to..conform that is. Not to say wearing 'hippie' clothes are bad and that you shouldn't do it - hell that kinda goes against what I am saying. Wear what ever you feel comfortable and confident in, but be cautious when doing it purely to project to people who you are what your about, because really in simpleton terms the only purpose they serve is to keep us a warm and covered. But I guess theres many perspectives on the topic and to allot of them I might be wrong. I mean ye these different persona's create division, diversity and greater awareness for the self - in todays consumer driven establishment. To me it just drives you further away from who you really are and creates a whole generation of people who for their whole lives constantly strive to maintain and diversify that 'persona' which in the end drives our economy and..consumer driven society. I may be wrong but since before the 50's or 60's mainstream society wasn't too picky on how many choices there were for people to niche into - but I guess they did have racism and all the foo-y. All this division creates dysfunction in not only our determined persona's but lifestyle and beliefs. Historically there has been a direct correlation between the level of advancement - of "progress" - and the level of dysfunction in terms of the individual being's level of fulfillment and happiness. The more "advanced" the society became (that is, the farther it removed itself from respect for, and alignment with, natural laws and cycles), the more dysfunctional it became in terms of the individual being's feelings of self-respect and fulfillment - and to void that gap in fulfillment we replace it with "identity". To mend that gap people look to spirituality, which is why I assume most of us are here on our different psychedelic journeys. You look at aboriginal cultures and the way they raise children and how they meet their emotional, mental, and spiritual health needs. By going back and peeling all these layers off, we are getting back to our core aware selves. That self needs no cloth nor 'persona' to be established - all it needs is itself.
You are absolutely right. If I need to dress this or that to enter this or that, I would rather not enter there. If somebody is judging by my clothes am I worth to be with him, I would rather spend that time with some orphan kid who really needs love, or anybody who is looking at you as a human, not a bunch of clothes named Armani. Yes, I like to wear some tripy clothes when I am going to the Psytrance party, but not because everybody is wearing it, it is because I feel comfortable in it. Otherwise, for every day occasion, including work, I wear jeans and t-shirt, thats what makes me feel comfortable. And if somebody again think that I am just a comon average worker, he will be wrong. Why IT manager needs to wear suite? To represent "higher" class of something? Bullshit!
theres nothing more important than feeling comfortable in the clothes you wear. whether comfortable for you is rags, or suits... and expression and individuality is somthing all of us humans desire.
ye ye but i was justing saying i know your saying what ever your saying but not to take what im saying as something that i wasn't just saying which acutally just says what you were saying.
Ever since I bought this shirt about a year ago I have worn it for every time I tripped either mushrooms or LSD, I think its an awesome shirt. I remember some one told me when we were tripping that I look good it in. I said yeah, I'll grow into it. Took me about 5 minutes that I was growing into it physically and mentally. It is the Theolouge by Alex Grey.
I got the shirt along with a poster off of alex grey's website. Hes got a bunch of stuff on there thats awesome. Check out the posters. I really want St. Albert, I bought the Cosmic Christ with the shirt. I think the shirt was worth it, even if I only wear it when I'm trippin.
Try getting naked if you think clothes are important to your self image. Do this while on LSD of course. See if you can get your friends to join you in a game of naked twister. I like shirts with art on them. people who buy patchwork from the mall should be laughed at. Dont wear hemp you didnt braid yourself. get comfortable shoes.
Not really, if you're wearing the clothes to fit your personality/views then that's what you're wearing them for. If you want to wear them for others to judge you by, then THAT is why you're wearing them. You're actually being more conformist by worring so much about what others think and letting it affect how you live your life.
