Why do Americans have a tendency and an inclination to make fun of the rest of the world. They ridicule British people about their bad teeth and when they talk about French, they say " French people stink! ". Rightfully, the truth of the matter is completely the opposite. According to the International survey, the British are way ahead of the Americans in dental care and oral hygiene. And, French people use more soap and perfume per capita than Americans do. It appears the French are ahead of Yankees in hygiene but they keep it to themselves, and they never brag about this particular issue. However, Americans, always consider themselves to be "the best" and almost always make fun of the French, the British, the Mexicans and/or the rest of the world. Why is that?! Please make your comments in ENGLISH. Thank you!! Grazie!! Ciao!!
They live a pretty sad life if you ask me, I lived there several months, for me a country where eating is nothing, where their only porpuse of eating is putting proteins in your body to keep on working is a sick place to be.
Not all Americans are like this. Maybe if you stopped generalizing about Americans they would stop doing it too.
Hmm actually having spent a good amount of time in Europe, I can safely say that you guys do it to Americans just as much. Are your feelings hurt or something? Personally, I love Italians.
I don't think there is anything wrong poking a joke at ourselves or somebody else. However, when you go on national TV and you joke and insult an entire nation or country, I think that's a bit too far.
yea, but to say that this is what Americans do? what a few dumbasses do on redneck humor shows doesn't represent the lot of Americans. To think that it does is about as ignorant as thinking all french people are stinky.
the term americans refers to all the people of the americas, north, central, south only citizens of the u$a are referred to in this thread, perhaps? [more superiority complex]
Actually, when a European talks about "Americans", Im pretty damn sure we all know who hes talking about.
semantics...I dont care about this Vespucci guy anyway. Never wanted to be named for him. Just a meaningless name as far as Im concerned.
were you not arguing that there were no homosexuals in biblical times as the word had been invented by the victorians? and you want to call 'semantics' on me?
the point is, no one was arguing before that word (and idea) had existed, that homosexuality was an equal and normal sexual variant. They concenrated on the acts which they deemed to be immoral, and did not think of the whole person and did not think of it as an identity. But this is for another thread..
I am an american, but I'll say that americans are ignorant self obbsessed people who believe we are SUPERIOR to all other countries - when in fact we have just as much problems if not more
maybe that is true but i feel some of us also make fun of ourselves, dont take it too seriously chaps
Way to be a hypocrite Eagle 86100. I'm an American (or US citizen, for those who insist on being p.c.) and I've never once made a comment about British teeth, French hygiene, or being better or worse than anyone else just because I'm American. I can't help my nationality or where I was born any more than anyone else on this planet, and yet you speak of me; an American and an individual; as though I'm just like any other tactless, ignorant jerk who HAPPENS to be American. You sit there and ridicule us for supposedly generalizing, and yet the only thing you accomplished in doing is to prove you are what you proclaim to despise about us "Yankee's". In a single post you made yourself a hypocrite by generalizing about us as a nation, not as individuals. Should I assume, then that everyone where you live is hypocritical just like you; because they HAPPEN to live where you do?
Chissà perché poi in nella cartella italiana c'è un thread di due pagine con anglofoni che bisticciano come bambini. Bah.
