since i started at my current work, one thing that was new to me was the amount of deaf people. i couldnt believe how many people there are. i have talked to a few, some can read lips, others have to have a translator. i dont know but something about communicating with my hands sounds cool. anyone learn? it looks easy, i dont know though. this girl who cant keep here eyes off me makes me want to learn. a relasionship from talking with your hands sounds like a new challange. i want to learn. =)
Just a few words and basic sentences. But I do want to learn it properly. The bad thing is that you also have to make facial expressions when you 'talk'. It looks kinda funny if you overdo it.
yes lots of signs... but some ppl I know use their own form of sign language? youll figure it out and then adapt to them ..
I do know most of the alphabet and a few of the phrases. It's cool! I want to learn to do it properly too.
Yes. I had a deaf boyfriend so I had to learn so I could communicate with him. I've forgotten some of the signs, but what I can't remember I just spell out.
If I am not mistaken PBS has a series on it. I think it is on Sundays. I do not watch TV but my mom told me about it. She is learning it. There are also tons of books on it. My mom is taking free classes to learn it.
ya, actually I only know the abc's. I learned from a book when I was young, because I have a deaf friend. He got a coclear implant though, so he can hear now, he just still can't speak really. So I can talk to him, he just has to write back to me on a notepad or something. It's kind of difficult, but I dont know enough of sign language to do it any other way.
