Her "humour" leaves me stony-faced, by all accounts her performance in Dr Who was pretty dire and yet she's been hired for a whole series of Who, which had a pretty good run but seems now to be going downhill.
I agree, I can't really see the point... that Mike Yarwood style comedy gets old fast. If you appeal to everyone and try hard to offend no-one you end up terribly bland very quickly!
I can't remember laughing once at Catherine Tate. She's just not funny. Her sketches are formulaic and it's not even a winning formula. I didn't laugh at the catchphrases the first time, and the hundredth time I groan at them. She was very annoying in Doctor Who. I've really been enjoying the series, but I have a feeling she's going to put me off it if she's around for too long....
Very rarely see much TV but when I have seen her I thought she was quite funny. Perhaps prime time tele diminshes the chance for real abuse to get the good laughs and change society all at the same time.
I liked Catherine Tate in the first couple of shows, but like Little Britain the comedy gets old REALLY QUICKLY. They use up all the original material and rely on catchphrases to get them by. I am slightly dreading the new series of Doctor Who, like Peace-Phoenix said it was going really well. Especially with Freema Agyeman as the companion. I think Catherine Tate is too loud and annoying for Doctor Who, and as much as I liked Billie Pipers character of Rose it's too soon to bring her back. She only left the Doctor a year ago! It worked for Sarah Jane because she was so popular and we hadn't seen her for years. I think RTD has got his head in the clouds at the moment. Come Back Freema! We love you!
i totally agree, i just don't find her funny at all, and yet people go on and on about how she is this great comedy act. to me she is just some dowdy middle aged woman who has a nice shade of hair. so glad someone else sees sense. blessings xxx xx x
Catherine Tate is really good. If youre all so clever why dont you get an award winning show on TV. Youre just pissed cuz she mocks people like you! Especially the younger people here - thank god Catherine tate did a lot to kill off the idea that all that "blingin" culture was cool, her and others laughed it out of orbit and now look - hip hop and all that fake jamaican talk "jafaican" is sooooooooooooooo old now and so dead. Catherine tate is excellent and I hear that she is teaming up with the mighty boosh as well - know what I mean ? bare comedy brov blingin yeah lets go for a snout and chat innit tho maybe light up some o dat chung eh hahahaha
I do admit that she's done a stellar job at killing some of the chav population. Lauren Cooper is much more accurate than Vicky Pollard. I haven't heard any chav say "bovvered" in a while. And some of the more smarter chavs (and I use the term loosely) Have toned it down a bit. So she is doing something right
