My dreads are like 2 days old. Yeh... they do make me look intense... I keep em under my hat at the moment so i don't scare my 1.5 year old son!.. Can't wait to see how these look in time... Thanks for your comments!!

I got these done out in Thailand by some street vendors. There is a big backpacker area called Khoa San Road in Bangkok that has loads of guys and gals making dreads on the street. A lot of them are extensions, but I wanted mine natural. It took about 2+ hours for 2 guys to complete. I don't know what they used. It looked like a long needle to me. And maybe a comb. I sat there drinking beer as they went to town on my head. It hurt a lot. Beer helped. The guys on the streets have tons of practice making dreads as all the extensions are made by hand using long pieces of hair (or false hair)

They look really tight for being so young. Those guys in Thailand must really know what they are doing. Mine are around a month old and they do not look nearly as tight but they definately look as wild. I have heard that I look like a palm tree, Elvira, Sideshow Bob... there's more but I do not need to list them. I wear them in a pony tail a lot now just so they will flatten down a bit! I love having dreads though, so I am most definately not complaining. Congrats, you look great!

no... definately no wax man... My hair is super tangly anyway so i reckon that helped somewhat.. I think they were pretty much backcombed... I also noticed that they used some kind of what looked like a knitting needle but small... They are super-tight - no way of getting them loose... The only thing I have a slight issue with is I felt i could of got more dreads out of my hair.. I have 32 and you can visibly see big gaps between dreads... You think in time this will sought itself out? I can imagine the dreads becoming real fat in time as my hair is quite thick...

    mines incredibly thick
no idea how many i started with but doubt i started with 1/2 or ebven a 1/3 as many as i got now even tho maybe a dozen grew together
even now im findin new 1s alot, (probly got a dozen babbies)
as they grow n require seperatin lil louse hairs fill the gaps n become new dreads
if they werent seperated and made, chances are youd have quite a few more,
and there wouldnt really be gaps
dreads section themselves better cause every hair will know where it wants to be and knot with the ones around it..if theyre not in 1 dread or another they'll just form theyre own dread
if they get too thin they'll grab onto a neighbour for support & thicken up..
they'll have a few babies that grow up next to em..

thinkin back to ehen mine started i doubt i had 60..maybe 75..and think i got like 150 today with at least 15 or so that becamew 1 (counted as 1 in the 150)
    ofcourse
    u can start out with 60 & have it become 6 or 1 if u let it..lol
