when i was really struggling with cigarette addiction, i devised a visualization technique which helped me get through cravings a lot of the time.... cigarette butts are nasty. thats why we throw them out. they're useless and gross. imagine you'd never thrown one out. imagine you'd collected your butts in jars, keeping them on display in your home. think of how many cigarettes you've smoked over the years. think of how many cigarette butts that adds up to. think of how each cigarette butt represents you doing significant damage to your body simply for a couple minutes of pleasure..... also keep in mind that quitting, for many people, takes practice and patience. i've quit many times, and only now am i close to completely cigarette free. once in a while if i'm around a lot of smokers or i'm drunk i'll bum a smoke or two. i can't remember the last one i smoked though..... which isnt to say i'm tobacco free. i still smoke a nice cigar every day or two. but theres very little nicotine absorbed that way (you dont inhale) and all that goes in my lungs is the secondhand smoke, which is minimal so long as i smoke outdoors or with windows open for a long while after smoking.
suck it up, know people who went cold turkey after 50years of 2packs a day and never smoked another cig so your 1year or 6months of "smoking" barely even count
no. I do have an occasional cigarette if I'm visiting out of state friends who are heavy smokers but I quit from 3 packs a day over 2 years ago. But when i've kicked other habitual actions, cold turkey is what worked every time.
I have been smoking since I was 12. So 5 years still isnt that much. But its enough to get a serious addiction.
similar to nesta's way, when I quit cigs after about 10 years of smoking, I smoked a shitload of cigs in one weekend. I'd smoke 3-4 cigs back to back, and it was fucking disgusting. whenever I'd want one after that, I'd just think about how gross it was to light cig #4, bye bye urge.
i dont have much advice as i dont smoke cigs but i do know that the power is within you, you can do it ppl who quit smoking are great, courages and strong they show what we're capable of
Change daily habits. Don't go to places you normally buy cigarettes from. Hang out with people who do not smoke. Take up a hobby that makes your hands so dirty you wouldn't want them in your face- gardening, pottery, etc. Join a gym. Remove as much as possible things that remind you of smoking or you associate with lighting up.

I have set my date to quit next thursday. What is this homeopathic stuff that you are using soaringeagle? Where can I find some?
man, I've been a heavy smoker since I was ten. An' I've tried to quit many times over the years. I still haven't managed to bring myself to the point of a pack a day. But on the bright side I know full well that it can be done. If you really want to quit my best advise is just quit. Don't give your mind a chance to react or anything just stop. Maybe it ain't good advice but it's there man, peace
good luck.. i've been saying i was gonna quit for some time now i have no will power though, i'm sure you do
Yeah man, it's pretty tough. I find that smokeless tobacco works really well for me. But I still smoke . Try some of those patches or some shit, I dunno.
