Benadryl, why does it exist?

promethazine is actually a pretty decent sleep aid. it is also called phergan, and is great for upset stomachs, throwing up. and, to be honest, (i KNOW this sounds crazy), but i prefer the suppositoires to the pills. the pills give me RLS really bad, but tnot the plugs!

 

Sorry for the thread hijack, but I'm curious: What, if any, drugs are OTC in Asia that are prescription in the States??

 

It doesn't help me sleep and it doesn't make me hallucinate. Even after I've taken 8 at once.
Won't be doing that again. All it did was make my muscles ache.

 

Do you mean phenergan? They gave me some of that along with my percocet when I got my wisdom teeth out.
It worked for the nausea, and I did get sleepy, but I think that might have been the oxycodone.

 

There's probably lots of stuff in less developed Asian countries, but the only thing I can think of where I'm at is dihydrocodeine, but it comes mixed with a bunch of other stuff which lowers the potential for abuse. Dihydrocodeine seems to have a little more potential for recreational use than codeine (it feels more like hydrocodone).

 

has anyone ever had a good trip with Benadryl?

 

diphenhydramine tripping is the WORST trip ever. however at lower recreational doses (200-300 mgs range, depending on your weight) it can give you a nice buzz if you combine it with weed, very relaxing. Doxylamine is alot more fun, becuase in my expeirence, if there are hallucinations, they are not nearly as creepy as those from diph. still, i would NEVER reccomend trying to trip on any otc sleep aid, unless disphoric delirum is your cup o tea.

 

Benadryl exists to take the itch out of an opiate buzz.
