No thanks, I bought my own peice of Alaska. Ummm....you ever take that 45 mile boat ride across Prince Willian Sound? In a skiff? Just how long do ya figure that'll take with 2 foot seas? Don't drown youself and your friends. Let's see - $6K per person for 11 of you that makes $66,000. $66K for a remote acre and a half? Even on the water you're getting rooked or trying to make a load off some unsuspecting hippies. And then 200 buck a month (or $2000 total)for upkeep. HAHAHAHAH

The land is rainforest with huge old spruce ect ect
There is a stream that flows on land
Salmon run this stream too spawn
Right in front of this property is world class halbit fishing
    Along with shrimp
The price was a guess too get this started,
    it incl.
    the land paid (30k)
the sailboat paid (this sailboat cost 65k new, and is a pocket
cruiser that has 100's of pacific and atlantic crossings)
the tipis (these are 2k ech and 20oz cloth.)
    The dock (floating)
The skiff (ill build it new w/new outboard)

The payments starting after full 1st year are for

    Land payments
Boat storage (winter) and spring upkeeps
    and improvment of property....(cabin?????)

If this is too much for you sorry, But no need
too come into my thread showing your ass.........

rather then accuse, point fingers, and talk at
people negitive......My take, i call these people
hippy nazi's.......Just read the hate above....

Wonderfull how one can accuse someone they dont even know.....
Hes not a hippy, hes a drug addict.....big differance...
If there is anyone that would like something nice too own,
well thought out reliable, and safe feel free too message me....
If your a druged out bum that brags about your flea
bitten hair, with pride, then save yourself, and dont post here....
I dont have time for it...

    If interested,
This is the sailboat we would own...Its a great design, and will allow 5 people too go anywhere they want on extended weekend jumps around the area. Keeping a close eye on weather ect ect...this is the kind of boat, not the one (i dont have a deal for the boat yet)http://www.yachtworld.com/core/listing/displayPhoto.jsp?boat_id=1581060&boatname=20%27+Pacific+Seacraft+Flicka&photo_revised_date=1161068400000&photo_name=Photo+1&photo=1&url=

wow an people think we are assholes..

dood if you wanna make it to a member here i suggest you learn to take criticism without attacking people ..

as far as 10 people here bein even close to like minded as you,,sure theres 10 or so,,but you just cussed one out who is actually already living the dream you speak of..

perhaps you should cut the attitude and try and actually converse on the subject whether someone offers constructive criticism or not..

    so i gotta ask,

what are your qualifications to lead this effort?
does the 6000 include food and supplies for those six months?
if not how do you propose the tribe finance this unmentioned portion?
how much time have you spent in alaska?
how do you intend for this tribe to relocate 6 months out of the year?
where do you intend this tribe relocate to the other 6 months?
how will this tribe finance said relocation?

im sure ill have other questions as this evolves but that will do for now...

you need to brush up on your reading comprehension skills. nowhere did freeinalaska make any such accusation veiled or otherwise.

no he didnt he implied he felt you are getting ripped off based on the information you originally provided.

he also asked a valid question regarding crossing the sound, wich leads me to ask another.

how many times have you crossed that sound in charge on a sailboat or a skiff? im not talking Chesapeake bay im talkin prince william sound?

also, have you gotten a price from a lawyer on deeding a piece of property 10 ways?

is that factored into the 6 grand?

also, should a series of storms hit and crossing the sound becomes impossible do you have a plan for survival till you can be rescued?

    those are fair questions

"what are your qualifications to lead this effort"

15 yrs in back country camping/remote experiance
10+ years in sailing knowlage (this 6 months will be based
on exploring the whole area, including sail too shore camping
of areas, 4 people on boat for long 3 day trips, more for day sails)
Im not sure what type of experiance you need too buy good
equipment, do the planning, and get the group of people together.
I guess my best skill is common sence.

"does the 6000 include food and supplies for those six months"
I have a more detailed budget, but this 6000 covers everything
for the 1st year based on 10 people total.

i would plan on people arriving staying the 6 months or so
then snow birding south for the winter, the boats need too be halued
stored, winteriz'd ect, Then in the winter, people can work save,
and do it all again the next year...... the 2nd year wont cost
close too the 1st years setup, So the cost would be supplys, boat hauling (spring) ect ect.... the point is, if one is willing too work for 10 months starting now, and can save 200-250 a week, then we can all own all the above easy. Any able person, can make 250 a wk.......
Then we go our own ways, save money, and return in the spring.
More details will be agreed as a group...this is all open for debate.

"how do you intend for this tribe to relocate 6 months out of the year?
where do you intend this tribe relocate to the other 6 months"

    No disrespect at all........
but i dont consider this a tribe, i have no lables.
I just want a group of people that are cool, adventure loving,
sane, safe, and not strung out on crap. that want too spend 6 months
a yr with nature. Where people relocate too me is not a issue.
As long as when spring returns they can pay there way equal too
everyone else in the group. If the agreement is 100 a month
(after 1st yr) then we can setup a escrow.... that way when spring comes
everyone has there money saved and all supplies are had for the next yr.
Like i said i have a more detailed budget.

His quote not mine i read fine!
"trying to make a load off some unsuspecting hippies"

Im 100% over that now, im sailing on. As for crossing the sound
you really want too question my sailing skills? LOL
SSB hooked up too ocen weather data softwhere, requires
100' copper in hull or insulated backstay, and a 20' whip. icom ssb
icom vhf laptop......With that basic kit, i can tell you if your going too get rain
even if your in africa, and im in Alaska.....
Point??? not too bash you but too explain, dont get caught in storms...
As for the skiff, same use the ssb weather too check area before
running the skiff Coastwise, 45 miles.
I know i know storms blow up fast, but you can get a very good feel
of conditions with above said equipment.
People can die just as easy on the chesapeak as they do in the sound.
its all about experiance and common sence.

im just thinking,on a 1.5 acre piece of land with 200' of beach front, does not leave much land to have a stream going through it. If you do not have the land as yet, how do you know there is a stream running through it? Have you gone and looked at any of the land you have in mind as yet or are you doing this blindly based on what someone is telling you?

also all through this thread you say "you" are doing "everything" except the legal papers. so youve made ALL the initial decisions and made the purchases does that now mean you and you alone are in charge or because we all have equal shares do we all have equal say no matter what your views are?

ergo, should the tribe decide could they vote you out and give you your 2 grand and tell ya to hit the road??

i believe it was phrased in a either/or fashion along with "getting rooked".

i think that was more a statement requesting clarification rather than a implication.

Look its simple, a place everyone own's equal, fair and legit,
a place for 10 people too come when they like leave when they like
as long as all bills are split by 10. The 10 can make a board, and talk
about how too make it all happy for everyone, and let the legal folks make it 'legal' As for the land, i know the person selling these, the history ect....

This is no tribe, sorry if you cant get over that friend, its just a group of people that want too live 6 months a year in AK....

Why may i ask did you come to a hippie site looking for people that are in the financial situation that would obviously be needed to be able to take on such a venture?
Those are phenomenal costs to anyone,,,Travel expenses, time off from said work place for extended periods, have a home to return to in the off months, pay rents, need i go on... Perhaps a stock broker hippie site would be more suited for what you seem to be interested in. I dont know of any "bk" type job that allows for decent living in an efficiency apt let alone have the finances to be able to take on such a lifestyle venture...
Even at a 100 bux a month per person after the initial expenses a 1000 dollars is not much money for a group that size to exist on... Prices up there are different than down here . Perhaps listening to FIA a bit would serve well,, afterall he does live up there and has for quite sometime He isnt a stupid drug addled hippie as you seem to like to make him out to be,,, noone can keep any type situation, whether its a camp homestead, tribe or commune going for 15-20 yrs when yer a drug addled waste product...

this all leads me to another question, if someone was wanting to have six months worth of supplies there to stay on the land during the non camp times, would they be able to do so and have use of all the basic equipment for the camp . Would they be allowed to build there own type of permanent structure ..ie a cabin?

well in my estimation anyone thinking of taking on such an endeavor would be asking these sort of questions. Would you want anyone thinking of entering into something like this doing so blindly.. we are the type of people you would want and have on your tipi camp out.. You are not going to get 22 yr old kids with the financial means to do such a thing.. Do you want equals taking part in this venture or do you want sheeple to herd into your pasture and follow you blindly?... You will have financially stable people on this land with you and one does not become financially stable by stupid irrational irresponsible thoughts and decisions. Therefore why do you assume that anyone here that may be interested will be a stupid idiot or a troll making blind decisions with literally thousands of there hard earned dollars? Why Would you expect anything less than such questions be asked of you ?
