So recently I've started thinking about going to get a brazilian waxing done. I usually shave, but I'm tired of the up keep and annoyance of the bumps. Has anyone here had a brazilian, and if so can you share with me anything I should know? One questions I do have is usually when you shave, it hurts to run your hand up your body in the oppsosite way of the hair growth. Does it still cause that painful feeling when you get it waxed? Thanks guys!
it hurts like crazy when you get it done, but afterwards it's the smoothest most gorgeous thing ever! after the first day (when it's a little swolen and tender) no pain. but some of my hair got ripped off instead of ripped out and is growing back too fast but after keeping it up for a while, i think it will be well worth it!
I'd love to try it, painful as it might be...but I haven't found a salon willing to do it to a guy around here.
it hurts like hell. you could get a friend to do it trim first and use wax strips then you can experiement and have shapes like love hearts, although that itsn't a full wax if you go to a waxing salon, get a recommendation and/or make sure they are experienced guys getting a sack and crack wax there are alot of salons that do it or get your partner to do it
the wax strips are hard to use if you have really thick hair. trim first, yes! and if you're doing it at home, use the microwave hard wax that you don't have to put the strips on. does a much better job. but yeah... it was good having someone else do it for me, at least for the first one. after that, maybe i'll go for it myself.
Strips?Nooo...Find a professional, she will fix you in a matter of minutes with minimum of pain if she's really good at it.. And if you do it regularly, you'll get used to it..: ) So like the girls said...find a nice salon, you'll be pleased
I have also been thinking about this for a while now. Is it worse for men than it is for women? I've heard it's more painful for guys. Any truth in this? I just really don't like having a lot of hair down there and the ladies seem to enjoy it when it's all cleaned up, but if i'm going to hate life for the next week afterward, then no freaking way.
i think once you do it, you will proboably keep doing it. it makes me feel sexy Although i usually have a shape or landing strip so, not quite a brazillian i don't know about guys but it really hurts. the first time i had it done, i couldn't wear undies if you get a decent brand of waz strips, there ok each to his/her own Mow, don't grow
Oh and it's all about what you use after...Camomile cream, calming powder or zinc based cream for sensitive skin..
Thanks for the info. I didn't mean to hijack anyone's thread. Oh, and ava, The landing strip is HOT!!! I love it when there is a runway that leads to the touchdown.
It gets easier each time and the regrowth is not as thick. Just make sure the salon DOES NOT double dip the sticks. I got infected ingrown hairs from one that did and trust me, that sucks!!
thanks for the advice on what to use after, i was thinking of buying some after gel that many of the shaving companies sell and it hurts less each time you do it. the no undies thing occured the first time only
It definitely hurts less the more times you do it (I don't know why) and like Daphne said, the first time you do it hair will start to grow back in a week or two, but after a while it grows back much more slowly. (I suppose because you've traumatized the hell out of the follicles down there, lol.) I go once a month and it takes like five minutes.
