Here's what happens when Sufis meet Richard Brautigan.... Archana I have drunk the breeze and now I speak the language of the flowers. Still born I asked for a poem about the Midwestern stars. Sitting on a fence in Ohio, I saw you, lovely litany softly die on my lips. Peel the Sun Come, taste the prairie winds. Let your parched dreams swell to life. Come, drink the morning sky. Let your madness rearrange the stars. Come, beloved, to Latif's side, and let us peel the sun.
I love these...esp. the ones about the midwest...they remind me of those open roads of Jack Keroauc's America... where you could totally be free...I really these...esp. how short and simple the first one is...I think it is its beauty.
wow how sensual. "archana" is a great haiku...if you're like myself and believe that a haiku doesn't need structure "still born" is an amazing little poem, very evocative, very strong in its simplicity...its kind of haunting. I am fond of "peel the sun" as well...you have a great connection to nature in these pieces
Thank you very much. I would greatly appreciate your feedback on "If you would only ask" which is on a separate thread.
