Does anyone here recycle old sweaters into other objects? I have been very curious as to some of the items people have made. Thanks.
my mom makes armwarmers from pieces of sweaters. the thrift store puts aside unsellable sweaters for her. she sold tons of them in her store over the past few months, they were a huge hit.
My friend (well online anyway) recycles them into yarn....I've bought some of her yarn....it is REALLY nice... here's her blog Soulful Hues Knits
hmm, that's a good idea. i don't recycle sweaters, i give them to my little cousin, but i do make all my jeans into either mini shorts, mini skirts, or cute little purses.
Cool stuff!! I was thinking about making pillows out of some of my old sweaters but I kind of like the idea of unraveling them too.
It does leave you with all kinds of new colours of yarn to make stuff with You could also make tops out of them: make them smaller around the waist, cut off the sleeves and embroid a print or something like that
Try making funky arm warmers out of them, like Jen Teixeira did: These were actually made from baby sweaters. For more of her stuff, you can visit her DIY Diva fashion gallery. -Rain Your Guide to DIY Fashion diyfashion.about.com
Hm....this gives me some great ideas for some sweaters that were god awful and ugly to wear. Hm.........
Nice work. I love the head sock bunjies and the wrist warmers I make too. Check out this rockin mama's stuff. I made a sweater dressed inspired by her works. http://www.katwise.com/sweaters.htm
