Heya I recently got the blue screen of death on my pc. It was fixed then became worse and different. Im voting something tech wrong with my Hard drive, Maxtor 300 GB Diamond Max. SO My only option was to lose all my files, put windows on nd see if it still crashed, or try to take my files off (and then wipe clean and try) So I bought 3.5 HDD External to read my drive, which it does, and I am currently on my girlfriends macbook, with which I am unfamiliar and short tempered. I've figured out how to put files into a burn folder after creating the folder by inserting a blank cd. I've been dragging and dropping files and have become a tad distressed at how much space it ISNT taking up. I know images files are rather small and its been a bit since i was on my pc but it seems.. odd. Anywho the extension of the to be burned stuff is automatically a .fpbf which i have learned is always what the mac makes that folder. I was wondering: Can I successfully burn files (.bmp, jpegs gifs docs etc) copied/pulled from my hard drive, thru the mac burn drive, to then put back on my pc when I fix it? Are there any tips? Has anyone done this? I foresee no problem unless Mac (argh) alters the files and my comp wont read them or copy them from disc. I hate how mac intrudes and says No to so many files types that arent specially designed for macs. Anyone got anything? Thnk you SO MUCH for your time.. Love, Kim
Macs will burn any file type (extension) you want to a disc. It will not alter the file in the slightest unless you use some weird program to burn with. The Mac does indeed understand all the file types you mentioned. Remember that it is an Application that understands file types, and the OS understands the Application. I am not sure what you mean when you say "I hate how mac intrudes and says No to so many files types that arent specially designed for macs." I own both a Mac and a PC (Linux/Windows). I have never had my Mac "say NO to" anything. Be more specific and I am sure I can correct your misunderstanding.
