I wanted to ask a couple of questions. I stopped shaving a few months ago, not for any real political reasons but just because I don't have time. When I get a chance to relax in the bath, the last thing I wanna do if shave, so I stopped.

So far this has not been a problem. I don't have much hair anyway (I was expecting hairy man-legs) and I usually wear jeans or long skirts.

But now that it's getting warmer and I'm not planning on wearing long things all summer, I'm a little worried about public reaction. Not that I care too much what complete strangers think, but my children might end up dealing with it. As it is, my oldest has heard jackasses talk about how people with dreadlocks (me) don't wash their hair and other bs...she knows the truth but I imagine me going out in public unshaven might make things harder for her. She's at that age where she starts to take public opinion very personally.

Basically, I guess my question is for any of you who don't shave, have you had any trouble because of it? Do people ask you questions, or do they even notice at all? And those of you with children in school, has it ever been an issue for your child?

My wife hasn't shaved in two decades. My son once asked if she would not wear a tank top to little league games because some of the guys had made fun of her hairy under arms. Her response was to let them laugh because thats how nature made her and it was hot out.

I think it's far better to let your kid know it's OK the be yourself and natural, if you choose, than to shave for the sake of conformity.

    what a great response, freeinalaska....

I haven't had any trouble at all...if people notice, they don't say anything to me.

I wear my hair proudly..because as freeinalaska said, this is how nature made me.
