ick i cant stand this band!! they do not impress me, so what they can play fast. there is no melody, no outstanding lyrics, and the singer cant sing for shit. sorry green for the first time im gonna have to disagree with you about this band, i like music that doesnt have to rub their balls in your face to be appreciated

well dude theres always better and worse, and i agree lead singer is abit of a faggot < its the guitar playing i find jaw dropping, and i mean me, ive been practising teen spirit for ages now and can play all of it now at once, and when i saw these guys, well a few days of alot of time wont cut it, thats like decades of practise. i dont know, its just my oppinion bro

 

I cannot stand dragon force. I cant get into that type of music. Skill is not all about playing fast.

 

i understand, they can play really fast and not many can do that, unfortunately it just comes off as a "look at the size of my penis" show-off mentality.

and another thing that suffers is the overall musical quality, you listen to a few songs and your head hurts, and who like to have a headache, i think i would have liked them when i was 14, but as ive heard more music that is melodic rather than "OH SHIT MAN THIS IT HEAVYYYYYYY WAAAAAAAA!!!1111111!!!!!" i just cant enjoy overly in your face power metal

 

Rumor has it they use a backing track behind them to make it sound like more notes are being played. Also theres another rumor that they speed up their music on albums to make it seem more impressive.

...dragonforce sucks just an FYI. They arent badass. They arent good musicians and there technique and style is just sad. If you like pathetic shredding just youtube "shred" there are plenty of shredders out there who are better. Also... check them out live haha... there just a bunch of alcoholic's who wouldnt be famous if it wasnt for the music magic that goes on in the studio to make them sound good.

 

Dragon Force is awesome. Through the Fire and Flames, Soldiers of the Wasteland, and Operation Ground and Pound are the BEST!

the drummer used to live across the street from me here in st ives., his name is dave mackintosh. he was in another band called 'bal sagoth' before that and they were ok. he taught a couple of my friends how to play drums. Sent the whole neighbourhood crazy with the noise haha.

i think currently hes like the 3rd fastest drummer in the world or something. He lives in somersham england and the whole band come down sometimes. I grew up with the drummers son, also named dave mackintosh and also a fantastic drummer and so i get to see the band quite alot. His son is also a pretty amazing musician.

Oh yeah back on topic. not really my kind of music and for the record, dave mackintosh really can drum that fast. ive seen it.

 

Well one thing is for sure... Dragon force is totally different live. worse...

 

yah. I think most the time when someone is covering this song they have to use a drum program just cause the drummer is fast as shit.

they have talented musicians, but they suck as a whole. so what if they can play fast? so can many other bands. dragonforce reminds of something you'd hear on one of those video games like final fantasy or something like that. I consider them video game rock.

and from what everyone says, they suck live.

 

They are not the best but not the worst either. BTW I can almost keep up with the drum track for through the fire and flames. Its really not that hard if you have the time to practice.

 

Hate to break it to you, but they really aren't that amazing. They digitally speed up the majority of they're really fast riffs. This is pretty easy to hear/see in certain parts of certain songs. In "Through the fire and flames" every time anyone pounds on the whammy bar, it makes whammy sound that just isn't possible at normal speeds. Also, during the solo where they show Herman Li's hands in a little box at the corner of the screen, you can see his hair moving back and fourth way to fast. Not to mention they're fucking god aweful live because Herman Li and the rest of the band is always so drunk they can barely stand.

Man dragon force.. I love then and hate them at the same time.
I love the fact there soo happy and flowery with such epic composition about dragons, soo epic, soo happy
But I agree that the style of music is way too show off, too many notes.
Yeah they are all awsome musicians but composition wise its nothing special, its just basic song structure played super fast. I cant even stand listening to 2 dragonforce songs in a row.

But yeah hillarios band if you just admire the fact that they are sooo over the top.

And as for the people that complain that they speed up their records, ive seen them live and they totaly own. live serios best gig ive ever been to, and they actualy play their songs faster live than on the records- take that biatches.
