While it makes for an interesting tabloid story, the truth is he was physically abused for years by his father, and he was forced to watch his older sister (who he loved more than anyone on earth) being physically abused and beaten.

Both he and his sister laurajean were regularly subjected to physical and emotional abuse, which included their father holding a gun up to their heads and threatening to pull the trigger [IMG]

The kid should be given a medal

Wow... Why didn't anyone care that he was suicidal?
This is definitely not something that should be blamed on the internet or myspace... Someone should have taken charge and gotten him some help. Seriously. This is tragic.

I hope they give him life without parole, so he can miserably miss his dad for the next 65 years.

Why was that left out of the article and not considered for justifiable homicide?

Because those who proffer "information" wish to create the perception that the internet is turning kids into homicidal maniacs as a precedence for controlling it and blocking some types of information. The sad thing is that enough people will believe it to make that censorship a very real possibility. The child abuse history, while probably the real culprit doesn't fit the agenda of the supposedly "liberal" media.

I don't understand the childs testimony about loving and missing his father. His dad being a wonderful guy who wanted the best for him, etc.

If something is rotten in Denmark, it would have to be rotten down to the core.

I can understand the agenda, in general, as legitimate, but would have a hard time as recognizing this incident as a tool of that agenda. This kid is obviously not a product of myspace. I am willing to bet though that he is a product of media, in general combined with bad and/or neglectful parenting. I'm sorry to be the one to say it because I hate copp outs, but tv, movies, video games, etc are all as deceptively evil as people say.

The thing is that it's a two piece recipe with the key reagent being neglectful parenting. With proper explanation and discussion nothing your child really sees on television(within reason in categories of content and age) is going to be that emotionally detremental. Without it however one starts to lose sense of reality and judgement. For every day you sit watching a sitcom instead of mingling with your own friends and such, the more those fictitious, well planned scenarios start to seem real. The more they become real, the more your life seems to suck in comparison.

There are other examples for other genre's, but the truth is if parents did their job others wouldn't have as many windows of opportunity to squander our rights through such disgusting acts.

Perhaps if one parent stayed home instead of working to make sure their kids were getting a good dose of life and learning instead of spongebob six hours a day because the babysitter isn't that into kids. . . ;)

Most sheeple are unable to comprehend just what you've posted. The bews makes sure that myspace becomes an integrel part of the story-- just as it's being highlighted as a contact tool for pedophiles. The cumulus of bad press will soften people toward favoring increasing regulation and outright censorship not only of specific websites but also the medium carrying them. The majority of the people are conditioned to accept what is being fed to them via the brain sucking box without any more than lip service for protest... as long as things like Survivor Island and Big Brother continue top be served up in the junk food for the brain smorgasbord and none of the crimes being planned, organized, and committed by our government pose no immediate threat to their lives or those of their children they will be content to sit fat and happy to spectate as their rights and freedoms are parceled off in the name of security and profit. The evil internet is one of the few remaining spots where one MIGHT actually find some unvarnished truth. Truth is the biggest enemy to our system at the present.

It does seem that parents sometimes don't listen to their kids, even when there's something obvious staring them right in the face. If he was abused, I can see why he would've felt like killing his dad was the only way for escape, because, after all, people don't listen to kids. There are plenty of stories of girls who were molested by their fathers for years, with obvious signs, though no one tried to help and they ended up killing their abuser to end their misery. This sounds similar to me. And the fact that he had to witness his sister being hurt by him too is yet another reason for him to do such an awful thing. His mother said nothing was wrong. Who would've believed him had he told someone of the abuse? Perhaps he'd told people before and no one listened, I don't know. Kids often still love an abusive parent, which could be why he was quoted as saying he missed his dad. I don't think he should get the death penalty, and there should be an investigation regarding the alleged abuse.
Human beings will do drastic things when backed into a corner.

Saw 4 must be the reason he shot him for coming home early. He did plan to not shoot his dad had his dad come home after 4pm.
