Each state has changed their drinking age to 21 from 18, because they get gov't funding for their highways. If they keep their age at 18, the gov't won't give them funding.

i think its all stupid myslef if you guys dropped the min age it wouldnt be a big deal. seems like some kids get drunk just because it is against the law.

min driiking age is 18 where I live. for underage drinking you get slap on the wrinst and take you hame to your parents.

though if an adult suplies a minor wiht alcohol they can get a big fine. but this is kind of wishy washy law, depends on the situation, and the mood/opinion of the cop. ei... if I gave a 14 year old kid a beer on a hot day because he is thirsty, no one is going to care. but if I gave him a 750ml bottle of rye somone would probably mind.

At my University if you are busted drunk underage while on campus, you get fined then have to enroll in AA classes. If you get busted 4 times you get suspended from school for 1 semester.

If you get busted off campus being drunk you go to jail, pay state fine which is higher, and they call your parents. If you drive drunk at all anywhere off campus they suspend your licence, on campus you lose parking privledges.

Its much better to be caught on campus than off. But im almost 22 now and I don't drink too much, so none of this applies to me really.

If I remember correctly, a minor can buy an alcoholic drink in a pub on Sundays, as long as it's with a meal.

I'm not too sure about the Sunday bit, but that's how I remember it...

Also, it's one drink per meal...so unless you have squirrel cheeks, I wouldn't recommend it :p

^^I can see that. Alot of people drink a glass a wine with their dinner. Good for the ticker I hear. Here in the US, a minor can't even sit at the bar, we have to stand like a bunch of ingrates. Either way, I still get some booze, so who gives a shit.

what about being accused of underage drinking when you really didn't even know there were drinks around? That really sucks. Luckily, I went to court for that yesterday and the judge threw it out. Talk about trying to frame someone.
