why isnt the internet free!!!

my mom wont buy internet becuase she knows nothing about tech stuff, so i am stuck on netzero dial up and its free but only for 10 hours a month. thats nothing at all! damn, the internet is so usefull these days it should be free.

 

exactly... just like food, gas, and electricity

 

why not pay for your own internet?

 

haha good one, but seriously, the internet costs nothing to produce, just servers and wires, and people put so much money into purchasing thing and signing up for things online, it should be as free as the daily news.

actually, i've never paid for water. my parents had a spring, and it's been included in my rent in every apartment i've lived in

how would internet providers/cable companies make money if people like US NORMAL FOLKS didn't pay for internet?

no, they would make money off there phones and stuff, almost every internet provider has other services.

 

Most states, it should be a law that the owner of the property pay for running water.

I've never paid for it either...what a weird thing to pay for, huh?

We also get free drinking water from Poland Springs because Mobil had a little accident 10 years ago and it affected our drinking water...it's fine now, but it wasn't for a while

I don't even live at the place I'm fixing up and the water bill is $12 every month unless I wash out the paint brushes...then it's more.

 

well, in my city... libraries have it for free, just have to go to a library. all the high schools have internet, with restricted access. the university has free internet for all students, and even some guests can get on with little difficulty (just ahve to be on campus). our city also put in some wireless transmitters or whatever for 3 core areas (downtown, near campus for non-students, and broadway - our hippie/artsy street). iirc San Francisco has free wireless as well in a good portion of it, just have to put up wtih extra ads and slightly slow service

but yeah, get a job at some fast food joint or coffee shop or movie rental place or wahtever the fuck, part time, and quit whining not so hard to get the $20/month or whatever it costs for student/cheap n crappy internet
